Comtrend Adapter Problem
My home network comprised of 4 powerline adapters (1xAp and 3xEp) and has worked very well until recently. In the past few days however 2 of the adapters (Ep's) seem to have developed a fault.
![]() Normally when in use their Status and Ethernet lights both glow bright green. Now the faulty ones only show a dim red status light. If they are unplugged and then plugged back in again the Status and Ethernet lights initially light up brightly (Status-red, Ethernet-green) but after a few seconds the ethernet light goes out completely and the status light dims. Has anyone else experienced similar? Does anyone know the cause and hopefully the cure? Last edited by THE_LOCKER : 13-04-2010 at 11:47. Reason: To make the post more readable |

On of my power adapters has just given up, it's stuck in stand-by (Dim red light). However when it's plugged in no other lights come on.

My adapters also failed like that. In addition the case broke off exposing live terminals when I tried to unplug them - incredibly dangerous!
BT could not guarantee I would not be charged a £100 call fee for having the privilege of BT fixing their faulty equipment, so I have decided to use a LAN cable instead. |
