Anyone good with TAPS?
I'm trying to install Mystuff on this Topfield 5810.
Ive updated the firmware to the recommended, downloaded and run the Mystuff installer found everything in the Program-Files list which is in auto-run but nothings happening even when I try to run from the folder? Cant figure out where I'm going wrong, even with all the new files nothing has changed ![]() Any thoughts? |

MyStuff 6 EPG
I have a Topfiled TF5800PVR (250GB model) which I have had since January 2009 and I am really happy with it.
It currently uses the standard epg and is running software version TF-NPT 5.1409+ but I have seen the My stuff 6 epg in use on You Tube and it look great and was very impressed wit it. But I don't want to download something that will give my PVR problems because at the moment it works perfectly. So I have a few questions about the MyStuff 6 epg. How reliable and accurate is the My Stuff 6 epg? What do I need to download other than the MyStuff 6 epg? What cable do I need to download the software? Haw do I go about downloading the software to my PC and then putting it on to my Topfiled TF5800PVR? And do I need to change the software version that my TopFiled TF5800 is running to the recommended one? If so then what software version is? http://www.toppy.org.uk/~mystuff/ |

The MyStuff installer will update the firmware on your Toppy to the recommended one, if necessary.

Can I use just an external hard disk drive to download the MyStuff 6 EPG from my PC to my Topfiled TF-5800PVR or do I need to use my dads laptop because I need to use it screen? Also where on the back of my Topfiled TF5800PVR do I connect the external hard disk drive of laptop? And do I need to copy all my recording that I want to keep to my DVD recorder first before installing the MyStuff 6 EPG? (I do not want lose my recording as I want too keep them so that I can put them on to DVD). |

On the My stuff web site it say that for automatic transfer to the Topfiled I need to unzip the downloaded file which I have tried to do on the laptop but still cannot get the file unzipped.
Any Help? |

There should be a proper 'My Stuff' installer which, when run, will do just about everything for you, as far as I can recall (though you might need the Topfield Tools installed first).

Also I managed in the end to conect my main PC via USB to my the USB socket on the back of the Topfiled TF-5800PVR. The MyStuff 6 download was not zipped but I still can not get the download to transfer from the main PC to my Topfiled TF-5800PVR. Please help. |

If you look at http://www.toppy.org.uk/downloads/firmware.php and scroll down to the 'How to upgrade your firmware' section, you'll find a link.

you need to take your topfield to your internet connected computer (with topfield tools installed) connect your topfield to the computers usb port, the drivers will load if needed.
turn on the topfield. run the mystuff installer - it will download and install all needed upgrades patches and taps automatically. I did try last week but when I tried to download the Mystuff 6 EPG from the MyStuff Web Site I got an error message saying that I needed to connected to the Internet but my PC was connected to the Internet via wifi with the router being place in my dad's study which is conceited to his Mac. I did decide to give up ands just forget about downloading the My stuff 6 EPG as next year (2011) when we here in the Anglia region have our digital switch over I am going to be buying a Freeview HD PVR but I might try again and download the MyStuff 6 EPG as a lot of people who have Topfiled Freeview PVR's have said how good the MyStuff 6 EPG is. Is the MyStuff 6 EPG really that good and is it reliable? Also does it include a Series Link option and is it any good? |

Yes it's got a comprehensive series link, accurate recording with optional (automatic) padding at the start and end of recordings, advert skip functionality on playback, and better library functions than the Toppy interface.
But the best feature is it's very customisable so you can get it to work and appear the way you like and not suffer from some designers choice. |
