Football Extra Time

My Foxsat HDR was set to record the Pompey v Spurs match on Sunday. It recorded the 90 mins but not the extra time, should it have extended the recording time or am I expecting too much?

It maybe possible that ITV failed to send the correct flag to terminate the recording at the right time. Though it may also be possible that you haven't set the box to utilise the 'accurate record' facility.

OOH I didn't realise I had that

Press the menu button and select settings which is the first icon down the left hand side then scroll across and then down to 'recording' press 'ok' and then in turn select 'Start recording time' and 'End recording time' and set them to 'auto'.

It stands a fair chance that they may already be set as above and then that would confirm that the error was down to the broadcaster. It may also depend on how you made the recording, such as whether it was an SD or HD reservation and even which ITV region you live in. Other posters may confirm the possible reasons.

I've got mine set to start 2mins before and end 5 mins after. I used to have them set to auto but I kept losing the end of the recordings. Does having these settings mean that the box ignores the broadcaster flags?
I recorded the match in HD and SD and they both failed to record the extra time.

Yea, think it ignores the flags and any changes to broadcast and just uses the times it was originally set to start and finish at... I think.

There should really be another setting, 5 mins after or the flag, whichever is the latter.

Because Ive missed the end of recordings using both types. Now Ive found auto is much better as its been months since something was cut off.

I recorded this match in HD on my Sagem Freesat box and I can confirm that it did record the extra time.

So I guess the broadcastor did send the correct flags.

I'm also a Pompey fan so pretty happy all round really!

The reason I was recording it was that I was there at Wembley

What a match it was! Good to hear from another Pompey fan.

I have changed my recording parameters to auto now, hopefully this will stop this happening again (for the final )

A friend of mine had recorded the match with the "auto" settings. I sat down and watched the extra time and guess what, it stopped recording a couple of minutes before the end
What are ITV playing at? Are they completely incompetent?

actually I have to admit mine too missed the last couple of minutes. The match had finished but the program hadn't leading to an abrupt end.

Like the HUMAX, my Sagem box has a setting to allow a configurable "pad time" at the beginning and end. I dont use it because I wonder if it then relys on the time of day only (rather than a broadcast signal - cant see how it could do both, especially at the start) - also my guess is can cause problems overlapping with other recordings?

Same here. It recorded the full match but stopped a couple of minutes before the end.
