I have been able to receive ITV1 HD via the red button on the ITV London channel but this function now seems to have stopped I live in the Strathclyde area of Scotland and am using a Humax HD Recorder the epg does not show channel 119 which I believe is now the ITV1 HD channel will HD be available in my region as I dont appear to have the red button facility anymore.

As reported by GaseousClay on another current thread the start and end signals of the ITV HD red button service can occasionally corrupt the box so a factory reset is required - worth a try.

However if you are prepared to input a different postcode for either Dumfries & Galloway or the Scottish Borders regions you will get the following channels:

Using DGH10 *** (Dumfries & Galloway) and TD1 *** (Scottish Borders) :

101 BBC 1 Scotland
102 BBC 2 Scotland
103 ITV1 Borders
119 ITV1 HD

Apparently other Scottish postcodes will just give you STV on 103 and no ITV1 HD on 119. There doesn't seem to be a Scottish postcode which gives you both STV and ITV1 HD - at the moment. I suppose it also depends on whether STV or your local news/weather is important to you.

This Wikipedia link says why we can't get ITV HD in the area of Scotland covered by STV.

Look under the Heading:- 2010 launch as a standard channel

While I don't live in the STV Region but STV claim they will launch their STV HD channel in the Summer as commented on the DS forums.

According the the Channel 3 HD licence from what I understand it's up to STV, UTV and Channel TV to sort out an HD version as they are the Channel 3 franchise holder in their respective areas.
