iPod Touch update question.

Hi guys.

My sisters iPod Touch is the original one (firmware 1 maybe?) and this was obviously "pre" App store and stuff.

Now she didn't upgrade to version 2 (with the apps) but wants the Sky App to drool over rafael nadal on sky sports.

The update to OS3.0 is 2.99 on iTunes and that is needed for the Sky app.

Can anyone tell me can she upgrade straight to iPhone OS3 , skipping 2 or would she need to buy both.

I think common sense would dictate she can buy straight to version 3 but I wouldn't put it past Apple to make her buy both

Thanks
Gormond

Pretty sure you can go straight to OS 3.0

Yes you can, all OS "updates" (and indeed all app updates as well) replace the existing version of whatever with a complete full install of the newer version-- there is no actual update process involved. Only thing to watch out for is OS v4 will be landing in two months time and you'll probably have to pay again for that if you want it (it won't be required but some apps may not be supported in future without it).
