I currently have Sky+HD, did subscribe to everything but had to reduce my costs so cancelled the HD subscription and changed to the basic £19/month, even this is quite a bit when I only watch 24 from the range of non-freesat channels, so I'm now thinking of just making the switch altogether to Freesat+ HD

PVR functionality is a must on my main TV, so it's obviously a straight swap to a Freesat+HD box, but I also want to connect 3 other TVs (which I don't even own yet for the kitchen bedroom and kids room) to the dish to receive the range of Freesat channels (they don't have to be HD, and there is no need for recording facility from them, don't have TV aerial fitted as no coverage here)

What is the LNB setup required? Think I need 5 LNBs which doesn't appear to be an option as quad LNB looks to be the highest?
Where do I run the wires from and to?
Do I need Freesat boxes for each TV?

Probably an octo LNB (8 outputs) would suit. 2 feeds down to the PVR and a single feed each for the other receivers. You will need a Freesat box for each TV, unless the TV has built-in Freesat (quite a few modern ones do now). If your main TV has built-in Freesat, then run 3 feeds down to it, so you can record 2 services and watch a third with no restriction.

2 options I'm aware of:

Either an Octo LNB eg:

http://www.satellitesuperstore.com/octolnb.htm#skyocto

or you could go the multiswitch route but this will be far more expensive and overkill as you then need several LNB's to give the inputs necessary to get 8 outputs.

It's certainly more expensive, but you only need one LNB, a quatro one - and some distribution units will now apparently use quads as well.

You could put up a second dish with single LNB to raise the output count to 5. Technically you may need planning permission for a second dish but nobody is likely to complain.
