When Janines briefcase split open and all that lovery lovery dosh went flying all over the square... why was everybody just standing watching Janine get put in the police car.

If that happened in real life everybody would be on their hands and knees picking it all up off the floor and getting all excited, not just stood there.

Alfy needs the money why wasn't him and kat out there on their hands and knees.

And why did the police just drive away leaving all that money on the floor, why wasn't they trying to collect it all.

Couldn't agree more. If only Kat and Alfie had picked up the money - Janine said she had forty or fifty thousand - then between them they could have pocketed quite a few thousand to give to Andy and to bring their incredulous and ridiculous storyline to an end. The whole Alfie shagging Little Mo storyline coming up is also too unbelievable. Now had it been Big Mo, LOL.....

What I had hoped for was Janine to exit to the piano solo before launching into the closing credits. Was that her final scene or are we going to be bored even more with yet more police interviews, trial in court, etc?

I am bored senseless with Eastenders at present and cannot believe they won Best Soap over Coronation Street or Emmerdale for that matter.

I know it's been discussed ad nauseam here already but the fault has to lie with the scriptwriters first and foremost.

Well actually and you'd probably blink and you'd have missed it, but there was a quick scene where a policemen was picking up the money that had scattered all over the ground. But yeh had that happened on the Square I live you can bet your arse we'd have been picking up and legging it down the pub lol

What with the police all around?

And surely the money will have been "confiscated" as evidence of her trying to do a runner?

But 6 policemen -vs- nearly the whole sqaure.......no competition!

And the farriarers and Kat/Alfie wouldnt care about the police with their situation wouldnt they!

Yeh I only realised theres two sets of characters absoloutely desperate for money, one lot to stay in the Square, the other two to save one from being murdered and the other being made a widow lol

Hopefully The Ferreiras won't be able to pay the money they owe so then they can leave and we will nerver ever have to look at their miserable faces EVER again

I think Wellard's got a better chance of achieving that than Gus.

Can just imagine Wellard in the casinos, playing poker. Makes a change from fetching a stick.

Perhaps the police are keeping the money for themselves. You only see them 3-4 times a year on EastEnders. Must only work 4 days a year, so they need easy money.

I'd agree about all the police. It's only Janine, she's not the thinnest or fastest of people, so she's not going to do a runner that easily. I mean what's she going to do, push a police officer down an open manhole cover in the square (left open by the bungling workmen who keep popping up)?

Also why did the police not go round the back of her house? Madness - even my local police aren't that bad, and that's saying something.

One final point. Why were the police so fast in getting to Janine's house? Natalie rang up PC Plod and within secs of that the police car sped down past the vic.

Would that be the toilet or the cellar?

OR could Alfie and Kat and Spencer be the secret walford police??

I hope your terrible grammar is on account of you being ironically like Eastenders characters. "why wasn't they trying to collect it all"? In real life, no-one talks like that.

Now, if I understand you correctly, you are surprised that the cameras didn't show a mad scramble for Janine's cash. It may well have happened, but not shown on screen. If this question isn't answered in the next episode, then it's a glaring omission by the scriptwriters. At the very least there should be a discussion in The Vic about how Kat, Alfie and the various Ferreiras couldn't get at the cash because of the cops.

Well with a phrase like that Rudi, Nick sounds perfect for a role in EastEnders. That sounds like perfect cockney talk!

I thought the same thing when watching, that one or more characters would have been diving on the cash. It would have been nice to see them do it, with the police trying to stop them or something.

When Janine went to the back door I was shouting at the telly 'Why didnt the police go around the back'

Has the main detective been in something else? Not the larger built one..the campish looking one?

Yes my wife shouted that too, but then again if you are rushing to arrest someone who is about to do a runner would you arrive with the Blues and Twos. I think not

I don't care about Janine or the police, i'd be picking up the money.

Edit: It would still be theft-and it was wet the money may have been ruined.

And why does everyone go to the cafe for coffee & breakfast, especially Martin considering he lives right opposite??!! Think how much money they could save by just going home for a cuppa instead!

Exactly! And with the Ferrieras pleading poverty as well...CRAZY! Why can't they just cook it at home, or have a bowl of cereal at home? Even in the EastEnd the 'kaffs' aren't that busy anyway.

To save money I think the Ferreira's should stick to a diet of Ferreira Rochers. Actually those things cost a fortune...never mind!

EastEnders, Real Life....My A**E!
