Haven't read it....but don't listen to whatever it has to say! Watch it and make up your own mind!

I expect there will be some ranting and raving here, but I think it's a good idea. Progress.

The rating for the episode on the site is the same as the rating for The End of Time: Part Two on the site. The site also gave The End of Time: Part One a more favourable 9/10, so it depends on your own opinion really. Personally, I was hugely let down by EoT: P1.

The same site gives the Eleventh Hour 9/10....that is why i am definitely not going to liten to them, and make my own mind up...as for me TEH is not a 9/10 story.....if i was rating the performances only...yes it would be...actually that would 200/10 (if that is possible)...but as a whole...nope...so I will wait till saturday...

Doctor Who Online have a very positive pre-review:

http://www.drwho-online.co.uk/news/D...-3-dwo-preview

Quote:
“Victory of the Daleks is a far cry from the run-of-the-mill Dalek stories we have come to expect of late (Rob Shearman's Dalek being a much-loved exception). It takes some of the successful elements from the Classic series, and re-paints a new - more importantly, fresh story, that will take The Doctor's greatest enemy in a whole new direction.”

Never heard of the site in the OP before this review, but I don't give it much creditability because anyone that writes a review suggesting that fans of the show would stop watching just because they didn't like the design of the new daleks really doesn't deserve to be taken seriously. If we can endure dalek sec I am sure we can all come to deal with the new dalek design, whether we like it or not, without giving up on our favorite show.

change my dear and it would seem not a moment to soon?

come on this show thrives on change, it's not the first time the daleks have had a face lift and it won't be the last. I admire them for being so bold.

Gosh, I love this bit....

“the power of the Daleks in this episode is their duplicitous craftiness, gliding and sliding down corridors with baleful, unblinking unease-making confidence.”

Thats a really nicely written review.

Probably that the "void" where the Daleks and Cybermen were sent at the end of Doomsday, has become cracked too.

Could work as both a back reference, a way to show the Daleks will be less rare from now on, and yet another reference to cracks in the universe...

On topic of the OP....

What's this, a Dalek episode in "higher expectations than a normal episode that it some people hold it to so therefore it doesn't live up to it in their eyes?"

Shocking

The spoiler-free Den of The Geek preview is positive too....

http://www.denofgeek.com/television/...ee_review.html

Quote:
“as a standalone Dalek episode, it’s really, really enjoyable, and deserves mention in the same breath as Rob Shearman’s Dalek. Victory isn’t quite that good, but Mark Gatiss can nonetheless add to his CV one of the most interesting and enjoyable Dalek stories of recent times, and one that’s not shy of a bit of blockbuster action either.”

Difficult to review something that hasn't been on, yet-but I'll give it a go...

Well, I really liked that and those, but I thought that was way over the top and that was frankly ridiculous. He was good, though. But I wasn't convinced by the other one.

Yes its always best to wait!!!

But its nice to know that the reviews are positive...however, many of the reviewes on here also gave the Eleventh Hout a thumbs up...and it wasn't like that for me at all...the only thing I really agreed about was Matt!

So I'll wait...but I hope its good...I like Mark Gatiss's writing....

Reading the reviews will just spoil the episode, just as watching too many trailers.
