You know what I was thinking thinking yesterday when deciding what were myfavourite stories form all the eras? I was thinking how when i watch each story, I don't think about any other Doctor than the one i am watching....for example the Unearthly Child is the First Doctor's story....the Tomb of Cybermen is the Second Doctor's story...the Inferno is the third Doctor's story...and so on and on....

That is the point of each story.....that they are are made around the Doctor which is there.....and therefore now I now why when watching series 5 i don't miss the Tenth Doctor...because those stories are not telling me about the Tenth Doctor...but about Eleven.....so come this saturday...i feel you would have forgottona all about DT again...as you will be watching Matt in the Role...

That is the great thing about Doctor Who...

I feel exactly the same. That's why every doctor at one point has been my favourite doctor (not quite but almost).

I find the Doctor I happen to be watching is my favourite (at that particular point in time) The Five Doctors can get VERY confusing!

How would you feel if they did The Eleven Doctors?

I know, it was really bizarre wasn't it, and I liked the fact that the second and the third doctor seem to argue with each other (I also liked the story and the implication that the time lords are not all so great).

The eleven doctors would be great (keeps fingers crossed ). We could have Sean Pertwee and Sam Troughton taking the roles of their respective fathers, and ...... don't know who could be the first doctor. The change in the doctors 4 to 6 could be explained by some timey wimey changes in the flux compensator.

very well said! I will always think of David as my Doctor (never got to watch many of the older episodes as a kid due to them not being shown much in the USA, CE was great but didn't stick around long enough lol) but that definatly don't mean I can't love the Doctor of the moment!

its all to do with the writting - because the character changes how he behaves, its not like its simply being recast and the new guy trying to fill the old guys shoes...its new and the same all at the same time and thats what makes it great

Me neither, but that's because I've got all the DVD's.

/hugs 9th+10th Doctor DVD's

The new start for Doctor Who is a massive success imho, but it's early days yet and has yet to make it's mark on the Who landscape in wider terms. It's coming though.

That a good idea, but not sure he could handle the sillier aspects of Hartnell's Doc.

Come on...much of The Stolen Earth/Journey's End is sooo cringeworthy. Anything featuring the past companions, for a start. And the ending with Rose and the cloned Doctor...ugh. The best part is Donna's ending and the Doctor's goodbye to Wilf (which thankfully wasn't ruined when Wilf returned for The End of Time, in fact RTD bettered it). Also they did a great job with Davros, though his plan of destroying the whole of reality was waaay OTT. Hope to see Julian Bleach back as Davros at some point in the next year or so.

Agreed, fingers crossed he will be the big bad for the series finals, bums on seats and all that stuff. Id be surprised if SM didn't have an established baddie for those episodes.

Cracks in time? sound right up Davro's alley.

Hogfather, Wing Commander (he must have thought it funny? - along with David Suchet), Star Trek VI, Star TrekV (surely a comedy film!) demonstrate he has been in silly films!

Interesting choice. Now we need to convince SM to include "The Eleven doctors" in the next series.

I think I was being a bit greedy, wasn't I. I quite like all the multi-doctor stories (The two doctors, the three doctors and the five doctors). It would be great if we had another one like that.

The 50th anniversary would be the right time.

In the meantime, there is always Rich's 10 Doctors comic strip and Babelcolour's 10 Doctors vid (which points to some ways of incorporating previous incarnations )

Webslark, I quite possibly love you. Thank you very much, I've not come across these before. I will start downloading the PDF's now (will take me ages with my connection).

Thank you.

Ta, but I'm only the messenger

As well as Richs Ten Docs, don't forget to check out the Stalker of Norfolk thread too and Da Ten Docs, including the real regeneration story from 8 to 9!
