Well, that does indeed point to a very obvious conclusion.
But what jumped out at me looking at the cast list for episodes 12 & 13 is that Philip Madoc is in them both. May not mean much to newer fans, but Philip is a Doctor Who veteran who played several (mostly villainous) roles in the classic series, including the War Lord in The War Games and Dr Solon in The Brain of Morbius. A terrific actor-and I thought he was dead!

I do. I think he'd have made a perfect Master. Sadly, at 75 I think he's probably a bit old for that particular part now. Nice to know he's still around, though. Actors never seem to retire, they just keep on going....

Whjat are you counting as non canon? Madoc was in the Dalek movie, but these two weren't.

They've both appeared in some of the Big Finish CDs which I assume are non-canon

Still a matter for debate, and indeed a matter of debate. They're canon as far as I'm concerned-with the exception of the Unbound stories, which are deliberately non canon.

Perhaps I should have said "appeared on screen" ?

I watched The Stolen Earth and Journey's End again yesterday as well (coincidentally, have worked my way back across Series 4 whilst on hols). Enjoyed them both - I cried again.

But still can't wait for New New New Doctor tomorrow

They'll probably just use stock footage for the first three, since they're dead. Tom, Peter and Colin's aging would need explaining, maybe McCoy too. McGann they could just say has had a haircut, that way he won't need a wig. Nine might also need stock footage, I'm not sure Chris would come back. 10's a cert, no reason for David to refuse. He was a fan before he became the Doctor, and only quit after finding out RTD was leaving, if I recall.
