I have three mates on Voda, 2 in Sheffield and one in Derbyshire and all weekend their phones have been unable to call or SMS anyone and if I call them from my Three handset I get a Network Busy message, but I can call any other network. If my friend on Orange calls them he gets a message saying "the number you have called has not been recognised, please redial".

Is anyone else getting this? It's like the Vodafone network has dissapeared completely and since Friday night their phones haven't worked!

Is this any chance of leading to compensation for them? I know they are really p*ssed off!

same problem here. just joined vodafone as i got the sharp gx30 and thought i would give there service a go as they say they have good coverage. But everywhere i go - i get a decent signal and then goes to no service for ages. Its really annoying as you need to phone someone but theres no signal so i have to use my orange phone. I wont be going to vodafone again - ill stick with orange!

Yes, I think you should. I think Vodafone dont have enough cells spare to for-fill their network dutys. This happens alot down here in Birmingham on my mates moblies, also on the vodafone network. Orange rarely have this.

But the examples I mention are STILL without service and have been this way ALL WEEKEND without any service coming back! Even my Three service, although poor, is better than Vodafone this weekend and that's a bad thing for Voda!

PAYG isn't original - I was on Vodafone analogue long before that was out! Have also tried getting a briefcase sized phone working about 6 years back when we found it in a storeroom.

Not on VF anymore so can't actually help with the thread.

Sorry, I meant to say the original digi tariff thats what voda call it anyway ...2p a min after 6pm & weekends, free voicemail.
Call charges are high at peak, but I presume thats to compensate for cheap eve calls.

I remember the bad old days of anolgue, the crackling, hissing, was like being on a long distance walkie talkie and man were they big! I remember the big briefcase ones you mention.

But we all thought we looked cool didnt we?
Oh maybe just me then!
Anyway back to the thread, I rarely get signal probs with my voda payg original, I live in a big block flats on the top floor, so get good reception at home...
