TV power supply

I have a casio TV-880 handheld TV.
Can I use any 6 volt power supply or does it have a specific casio power suply.

So long as it has:

a) 6 volt DC regulated output (most are regulated), don't use a cheaper unregulated supply
b) correct plug type so it fits
c) correct plug polarity - this is absolutely critical and will probably be marked on the TV next to the socket
d) rated sufficiently high amperage to power it, I think 750mA is the rating of the official Casio supply

you'll be fine. There are plenty of third-party mains adapters which will meet those requirements (unless Casio have chosen a non-standard plug/socket type).

There are three requirements for a PSU.

Voltage, current and connector.

Voltage has to match between PSU and device otherwise one or the other may suffer as a result.

Current capacity of the PSU has to equal or exceed the current rating of the device. The device itself will draw whatever current it needs so as long as the PSU can supply at least the maximum required it doesn't matter if it is rated at 1 amp or 10 gazzilion amps if the device only uses half an amp.

Plug has to match. Not just physically but whether the inner or outer contact is positive or negative. most kit has the inner positive and the outer negative. but there should be a mark on the case near the socket or on a label showing how it's wired.

So any PSU will do the job provided the above criteria are met. many universal PSUs have interchangeable plugs so you should find one to fit. if it has reversible +ve and -ve though make sure you double check it's the right way round before plugging in and switching on!
