In a follow up to my library deletion my box is now locking up in the middle of a programme then restarting itself.

Well, trying to restart itself anyway, it goes on to 'starting please wait' then goes no further and I have to get up and switch it off and on.

3 times during 1 programme last night and I was only about 10 minutes in. I gave up in the end and went to bed instead.

I haven't tried it this morning yet. There's only so many times you can count to 10 before you chuck the thing out the lounge window.....

It's been suggested more than once here that your box is faulty.

Get onto BT and get it swapped.

Sorry, am I being annoying?

I will try but as I say, we don't pay for it, we got it to trial it for BT so I don't think they will replace it which is why I come on here for any help I can get.

No problem

Your box really does sound faulty though and it wont hurt to try BT and see what they say. You could always get one from Ebay to replace it as a last resort.

Thanks, I will try to keep the whinging to a minimum

I've been on at them for a couple of years on and off about the box because it makes the most awful noise especially when it is recording - quite aside from the usual racket - but they just tell me to factory reset.

I hate ringing them, they are so patronising and quite rude on occasion but I guess I will have to get round to it. Sigh!

An alternative would be to post on http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Vision/bd-p/VOD - you can start the ball rolling here - It's worked for me and no scripts or telephone calls to deal with
