Ever since hearing 'Right Hand High' on Radio 1, last October, I've fallen in love with Kid Sister's music. It's really great that Radio 1 have put her new song, 'Daydreaming' on the playlist. It is a brilliant summer song.

She makes brilliant, original edgy electropop and she has a great sound. I do love her singy-speaky raps. It's really sad that she is such an underrated artist, here and in America; she could have been more popular but Kesha came out at a similar time with a similar more mainstream, less complex and imo a more hollow, empty sound.

But, I don't think many people know about her here, and I was wondering if anyone else liked her/knew about her.

I do! I do! She's great. I only know "Right Hand Hi" and "Pro Nails" and The Count & Sindens "Beeper" (which she did the vocals for). Feel guilty for not investigating her further.

Actually I was listening to Annie Mac last friday and was sure at the time she was playing a new Kid Sister track. I'll have to do some Youtubing.

Any how, she seems to be of a similar mould to Ke$ha (though without the hype) and Uffie (I know even less about her than I do Kid Sister). I think there is also a hint of M.I.A. in there.

Here's a couple of awesome dubstep remixes of two of the tracks I mentioned above.

Right Hand Hi (Caspa Remix)

Pro Nails (Rusko Remix)

Oh Wow! I think this must be what I heard Annie playing on the radio last week.

Kid Sister's new video is on Digitalspy's music video page. I think Daydreaming is my favourite song, it's so beautiful and a complete contrast from Right Hand Hi.

Also, she did some of her songs live on this podcast I listen to, and she was really good.

It's show 215 btw.

Just had a look on iTunes. Daydreaming is released April 18th and her album Ultraviolets out on May 3rd. I'll be getting that without a doubt.

I guess we both thought of the same thing at the same time! Not to repeat myself but such an amazing song!

It's very disappointing this thread has fell off the front page of this forum already. Deserves a bump.

Does no one else like Kid Sister?

I also like Pro Nails, had that for quite a while and Right Hand Hi too. Both good songs. It's good that some people in the UK at least know who she is. I thought I was the only one.

Well by the looks of this thread, there is four of us... so far.

It does bug me though how certain artists (*cough*"Kesha"*cough*"LadyGaGa"*cough*) get the big hype machine behind them and others don't.

And the fact that Kesha's totally ripped off Kid Sister. I mean she does exactly the same thing, that made Kid Sister so unique and original; Kesha sings in an unusual voice, sings and raps in the same song and makes party music (Kid Sister has said that she makes party music).
Yet Kesha is really popular and no one knows who Kid Sister is.

Also, there can't be only 4 people that know who Kid Sister is. Come on!

Yeah, but you take a look at the style of music and it's completely different. Ke$ha is fantastic at what she does, and Kid Sister is fantastic at what she does. I have never thought of them as similar at any point at all.

Still, Kid Sister is amazing and deserves a helluva lot more hype.
