Do I need therapy because I post so much on Digitalspy?
I started visiting DS a couple of years ago, to see the gossip on Big Brother. I read the dedicated site, and the views in the forums, but reckoned that it was only saddo's who acutally wrote new threads and responded to others. Last June, again during Big Brother, I found myself so incensed by what someone said about Federico, that I was compelled to join and say my piece. I could only respond for 2 weeks, before I could start my own thead. I could handle it, I thought. I could take it or leave it, I thought. I thought wrong. Since then I have contributed almost 3 posts per day, every day since last June. That's including weekends and evenings, when I'm not even on. I have work to do. A business to run. Staff to shout at. But no, I need my regular fix of spoilers, gossip and bitching, especially about The Bill and other soaps. I'm trying to give up, honest I am, but here comes another Big Brother to test my resolve. I'm not sure I can handle it.
I'm almost at my one thousandth post, my very own millenium, and in need of some guidance. With your help, I will either give up completely, or be reassured that coming to the Digitalspy forums is part of a normal balanced existence. Waddya think guys? I need your help. Rudi

Coming to Digitalspy and posting continually is perfectly normal behaviour and long may you continue.
(I have to say this, as I've only started posting here over the last month or so and seem to be racking up a posts fairly quickly )

That's one vote for DS and the status quo (no not Rick Parfitt).

Her goes then. Post No 1,000. I'm completely overcome with emulsion. For once, I'm speechless. I'd like to thank god and my parents. I'd like to, but I can't - so I won't.
I would however like to thank everyone else here for keeping it interesting. Even, perhaps especially, the really annoying members (you know who you are) who get my blood so boiling that I have to respond with a bit of vitriol. To all those who have laughed at my jokes, you have impecable taste. To all of those who I have ranted at and thrown some abuse at - well good. You deserved it. I apologise for not replying to every PM. If I've done any good here at all, I'd like to think it can be found in the posts of http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...d.php?t=105539 The Bill Spoiler thread. Now seriously, should I stay or should I go? Rudi

As a reasonably new poster to this forum (having lurked in the background for some time) - I have to agree that your behaviour is perfectly normal, and I can only dream that one day, when I grow up, I''ll reach the dizzy heights of 1000 posts!!
So long as you have something interesting to say, then long may it continue!!

Be warned though it may take another 1000 odd posts. If all else fails contact your support group (that would be us) and we can 'post' you through it! Now if that fails perhaps you should contact your doc for some methodone!

It's not a stunt. I'm not threatening to quit. I'm just wondering if you guys are conscious of the time you spend on here as me, and am I right in feeling guilty about it. I suppose all I'm looking for is reassurance, and a big group hug. Rudi

I've read this back and realise that I sound like a complete arse, and a needy one at that, fishing for compliments in the most unseemly way.
I've decided that I will continue to post, but no longer as Mr Nice guy. Enough with the pussyfooting around. I'm going to get warned by the Mods on a regular basis. The gloves are off. And the first one to get it is me. What an absolute tosser you are Rudi. You come on here with you namby pamby (high childish voice) "oh what will I do? I can't help but look at this site all day." Get your arse in gear, and say what you mean. Stop appreciating other people's points of view. If you think something, say it. If you say it, then stand by it. Cretin! That's much better. I feel like a whole new person. No, not like Toddo. He makes me sick. And no not like NotGabrielKent. He's a sorry excuse for a character, with terrible plots, motivation and back story, and all delivered by one of the most inept excuses for a thespian I've ever had the misfortune to witness. Yours, as ever Rudi Mad not cool!

Rudi,
I feel guilty everytime i do anything thats not housework/gardening/cooking/cleaning/washing/childcaring. But i think we are all allowed a bit of fun and comunicating with the outside world is a good thing. So you should stay. I too only joined cos of Big Brother. I changed my TV package cos of Big Brother too. I even became sole owner of the TV remote cos of Big Brother. |

LMAO dude I think I should buy you some camomile tea and hemp biscuits! Take a chill pill dude!!
Actually - I'm 3rd year at Glasgow Caley and studying a lot - I tend to drift over to DS when I need a break from Feminist Economic theory - I don't get a lot of time to watch TV just now ![]() That all changes in about 3 weeks though!!!! |
