That stupid camera thing when a character thinks about something. Sooooo boring.

The montage of shots that motivate their thoughts in a jumbled fashion as if all occurring at once, with a disconnected soundtrack?

Yes. Twice in two episodes. Once more and it'll be laughable.

Why? Plenty of shows have recurring visual motifs. The Murdoch Mysteries does more or less exactly the same thing we saw here, every episode-it's a kind of trademark.

I got the impression from the Confidential show that this will be a trademark of this Dr/Series so you may as well get used to it.

Personally I love it, I think it has great impact along with the spoken "what did I see." We get inside the Dr's brain - or his ocular nerve at least

I thought it worked well especially in the Beast Below as Amy puts all the pieces together to solve the problem

If it's overused I might change my mind about it though

I hope it continues in every episode - just to annoy people who start threads like this.

"Chuck" has at least 1 similar effect every episode - so I couldn't give a damn anymore

I like it. It makes you look out for stuff like in the early Jonathan Creek episodes where the clues were all there if only you looked closely enough.
