Something I just noticed about 'The Beast Below'

When Amy and The Doctor fall in to the star whales tongue I can't help but notice there are several lights in there.

Any reason for this?

The beast below reminded me of Great A'Tuin, but then the city on top reminded me of Dark City.

I think this new who viewership have become accustomed to everythings being spoon fed rather than left up to the imagination.

Durin the episode in that tongue section, the doctor says that the tubes going from the polling stations with the "forget" "protest" buttons were surgically inserted into the tongue, there were more than one, and on the tube where the doctor coomes through there are red lights surrounding the opening. So its saffe to assume the other tubes also have red lights, hence why the lights appeared all over.

Nothing too major, but not something moofat thought he had to write in a reference

"well Amy, as you can see behind me, hundreds of red lights, on the tubes, like the one we came through, and anyway onto escaping.."

I can see the self-proclaimed Cult of Moff are going to have difficulty posting without patronising insults, vitriole and spelling mistakes this year...shame really: I'll warrant SM wouldn't enjoy reading any of it...especially when decent explanations are being clouded by idiocy.

I'm rtd not moff, I just hate looking on here at the really silly little things they pick at, I don't think it's fair, give it a thought before complaining

And idiocy? Spelling mistakes? Who are you? My mum or my old teacher? It's a forum? Not the queens teaparty!

There were lights in there because...y'know...we wouldn't have been able to see the Doctor and Amy otherwise.

The reason is simple; this is a TV show and consequently, relies on the viewer being able to, well, view things. Lights are a necessity for seeing. Hence lights in the whale's mouth.

Are we really discussing why there were lights during a dark scene in a TV show? This is hardly a new thing!

The lights are probably there because the whale had been integrated into the technology of Starship UK. Its mouth had been closed up and it was fed via tubes, and expelled its sick via an outlet pipe.

It wasn't complaining at all not once in the first post did I say anything to do with hating that there were lights in the whale I just said that I saw them and asked if there was a reason for them being there. I have now found out there was a reason.

I thought OP was referring to visible lights not lighting in an otherwise dark area - not therefore necessary to raise the sarcasm level so swiftly...

As a cover for missing the point of the OP I'd say this works terribly well
