I 'got' Victory of the Daleks the first time I watched it - but I have to say that I enjoyed it much more second time around. Perhaps because I'd stopped thinking about what might happen (and if I'm being honest, being slightly disappointed), and actually noticed the little details that make it interesting.”

I think every episode this year so far has benefited from more than one viewing. I see that as a good thing, too-makes the audience more attentive.

Yeah, even after the first couple of episodes, I could seriously see this series as worth getting on DVD or Blu-ray.

As I said I'm still enjoying it. The "new" gadgets are not really the problem. The problem is for me that it is as if one of RTD's stories has jumped up and bitten him on the bum! I am of course referring to a large red reset button. Like this series is the first series has been on since 1989.

It's difficult to explain, and of course I will get used to it, but to scrap all of the music from the last four years, to scrap all the gadgets. It would just be nice to have a continuing link to the RTD years even if that meant keeping the "Doctor Forever" theme, the "Dalek Hymn" also could have been played but wasn't.

I will always enjoy Doctor Who, but I am not enjoying how Amy is always saving the day at the moment rather than the Doctor.

The companion saving the day is nothing new to Doctor Who - the most obvious example being Jo in The Daemons - and a lot of examples from the Hartnell era.

And Victoria's amplified screams destroying the weed creature in Fury from the Deep. That's a favourite of mine.

I appreciate that it is not unusual. I think however, considering technically she hasn't been travelling with the Doctor for long, it is too soon for her to be able to know exactly how the Doctor ticks!

Still that's my opinion and it won't stop me watching. It is still the best show on telly at the moment!

Maybe there's actually a point to it though - maybe that is actually leading somewhere...
Remember, SM has said that there are clues in all the episodes.

Which reminds me, has there been any mention on these forums of 'The answers' SM mentions in his DWM production notes? (as quoted below)

1) Because it's a time machine, dummy
2) because the structural damage alluded to in the opening scenes has caused a certain amount of leakage. Yes, leakage. Shut up, it's all planned, you wait until episode 12
3) Ah! Ah! But where in the episode does it say it's the second time? No,see, it doesn't. So nyer. In fact the use of the word "keep" in scene 23 would suggest that it isn't the second time. Yeah, not so smart now, are you? Hah!!

He says they should be cut out and kept because they may be needed in the first 4 weeks of episodes, but I haven't noticed any mention on here (although I'm fairly new and haven't had time to look everywhere).

I hadn't seen that, but the question to the third one is clearly to do with him meeting River. He'll say why do I keep running into you or something along those lines

Check out the latest Private Eye for the skinny on why we have these stoopid nu-Daleks.

I've read that on their site. It is pretty cynical (well, I suppose it is Private Eye), but I think we all know they've had to do it for reasons beyond the reboot.

For me though, I'm fine with that. At least it supports the show, and to be honest, I'm well impressed with them!

Plot Hole:

Why didn't the plane squadron, instead of worrying about the Dalek saucer and its illumination of London, take their fancy upgraded Spitfires and go and shoot down the German squadron over the channel instead...

That way there would be no bombing that night and the Doctor would have more time to get the lights off.

Yes yes, The Doctor said that's not how it worked, but he was in space out of contact at that time and Churchill wasn't exactly one for playing by the rules (wanting the TARDIS to end the war, etc...)

I'm sure the Germans would've been no match for the Spitlasers so they could've dealt with the Daleks once they realised London would be safe, at least for the night.
