I might be the only one but I've just never really had a problem with wardrobe/ makeup/ hair. If anything I think the costumes that stand out add to the performance and it's something you remember even if it's for comical reasons.

Like Maria was the worst, it was pretty bad but if they had the chance to take it all back and redo it I would want them to do it the same all over again lol i love going oh remember the minnie mouse dress? the leopard print one? the nightgown? the satanist tablecloth? I thought it was great and it added to the entertainment of the show.

Now the Dorothys costumes have been sooooo much better than what the Marias had. So far I can't recall a dress that I've gone OMG to. I thought Stephanie's bumblebee number is one I will remember lol and it definitely will help people remember the performance.

So pretty much what I'm saying is if they didn't make us go then it might be a bit too boring!

The choreography for "I Want To Be In America" was excellent but some of the girls individual songs were ruined by the over busy choreography especially "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" with that motorbike. Jenny's song too also was ruined when she had to negotiate walking across that plank.

As for hair and wardrobe, what on earth is going on there?
It is a complete mess.

Poor Sophie was put in a ice-dancers tutu with a boxer's prize belt over the top.

She looked ridiculous, poor girl.

The make-up makes everyone look old and they got it so wrong for Jenny. Her brow comes down over her eyes a little bit, which you don't even notice when she is not wearing make-up, but before last night the make-up guys put eye shadow on that empasised it and she seemed to looky frowny & cross eyed. last night was at least better.

I thought make-up last night was better than usual - except I kept wanting to blend Sheila's blusher.

Wardrobe are still awful - Sophie looked horrendous. They've all got good legs, but we don't need to see them every week, and a v.v. short black skirt with blindingly white legs just doesn't look right. They looked better in America.

I thought the America dresses were really pretty.

Of the solo ones I liked Lauren's but that's about it.

Why do they have a thing for pulling their hair all over one shoulder?? They've done this with 3 or 4 of the girls at various times and personally, I think it just makes them look a bit wonky...

I agree totally with the o.p (and others) that the wardrobe make-up people are doing a poor job this series, in previous series there was the odd bad choice but so far in OTR its been a case of the odd correct choice and it seems to have affected all the girls.


Not that I know much about this sort of thing, just repeating what the boss is saying But she's usually right

I think the false eyelashes are a problem.... sometimes they are so big you cant see the girls eyes!!!! Eyes show expression but not if all we see is black

I would love the chance to burn some of the outfits they have been forced into...... poor poor sophie what were they thinking, my granny wouldnt put that over a toilet roll!

The girls are auditioning for the Role of Dorothy - not some glamour model in Nuts.

Dorothy is a sweet country girl who lives in the back of beyond and the girls without all that slap look so much better.

The BBC Make-Up and Wardrobe need to get their act together. Some of the costumes they "created" for Strictly were awful and the hair - Natalie Cassidy's "hairbow" springs to mind as a defining moment in bad taste.

ALW did point out the girls look slutty but he should have taken that up with Make-up and Wardrobe and blasted them. It is not any of the girls fault that they wear "come f++k me shoes", hemlines that are up to the cockpit, and makeup that has been plastered on with a trowel.

I would have thought that what ALW wants, ALW gets and if Wardrobe and Makeup are getting it wrong and he has no influence - then perhaps he should back out of the programme and hold his auditions elsewhere.

The outfits for the 'mash up' this week were horrendous. I mean truly awful. Some of the girls looked naked when you saw them singing as you couldn't see their dresses that close up and they were so short i was scared for their dignity.
