Ideas for pitta fillings
I'm trying out pitta breads as my lunch of choice this week. I'll probably do a cheese salad in one one day. I need some ideas for the rest. The only stipulation is that I can't put the lunch in the fridge as the only one we have at work is rammed full of milk 24/7!

Houmous and lettuce is lovely in a pitta if you like it.
Cheese and carrot (see below!) Chicken salad. Tuna and sweetcorn. Anything you'd put in a sandwich really! I don't eat a lot of bread so tend to eat wraps, one this week was grated carrot, cheese, sliced cucumber and tomatoes with mayonnaise and some chilli sauce. It was lovely and would be in a pitta too. Also, cold falafel in a pitta (with some salad) is lovely. Mmm! |

Basically anything you can put in a sarnie you can put in a pitta.
From the title I was instantly thinking "kebab". It doesn't have to be like a takeaway kebab. Maybe some spiced, chargrilled (or just grilled) chicken cut up into pieces and put with a little salad and dressing (garlic or sourcream or lemon mayo etc). How about getting one of those cooker bags to keep your sarnies in at work? |

That's the kind of thing. I'm sure most supermarkets will be stocking them at this time of year.

If you make a chilli con carne during the week, making a bit extra for lunch is great. It would make a good pitta filling.

But I can only find one and can't justify the price. |

Tuna mixed with diced onion, tomato and sweetcorn with some mayo. I sometimes add a chopped up babybel too
![]() Chilli con carne boiled eggs diced up and mixed with grilled bacon You could use an Old El Paso fajita kit to make up a few - I find the chicken and veg in the sauce actually tastes nicer cold! They are also nice in the pitta instead of wraps now and again too Simple one I do for the kids for a little change now and again is some chicken dippers chopped up and mixed with peas, sweetcorn and mayo. They love it. If I don't use mayo I use sweet chilli sauce. |
