Considering 10s reluctance to take a companion toward the end, 11 seemed very keen to take Amy with him. I think that the Doctor knows that Amy is a key. I too think it was the Doctor that has caused the crack, but not sure how yet!
A reluctance he admitted in the cafe to Wilf that he regretted.

Was the one at the end the only occurrence of The Crack? Wasn't there one when we first saw the dalek ship?

I reckon there has to be another one hidden somewhere, maybe on the map in the war room? It doesn't have to be a crack in a wall, just a representation of the line..

They didn't know, the Daleks ended up identifying themselves, and the Cybermen had no idea how strong they were etc.
Yes, it led to a bit of humour, along the same lines as "don't tell him, Pike", when the Daleks said that "Daleks do not take orders".

Either Amy is the crack or she's the Polyfilla.

Is it a coincidence that the only place we see cracks is where she's been

There is something very off with Leadworth as a whole. The whole thing with the duck pond and I also recall this being said
The Doctor: What is this place?
Amy: Leadworth
The Doctor: Where's the rest of it?

Meaning that it doesn't seem right to The Doctor. Maybe i'm looking to far into this.

I think that was just a reference to the place being small, with no nuclear power stations, not even little ones.

And a shut Post Office

I would guess that the crack is causing time to collapse, i.e. that real world events are happening quicker/sooner than they should.

This would explain why the doctor is always late (in fact he's not, it just appears that he is because time has moved quicker than it should or he was expecting).

It would also explain EH. It was set before 2000AD. Rory's ID badge has the correct date and his car Registration is correct, it's just that time has advanced quicker than it should (with mobile phones, laptops, etc. before their time)

Remember, this was touched upon with the ood in TEOT(pt.1) but never explained!

There was the reference to the 'skin' of the universe which seeemed unnecessarily anthropomorphic and it definitley looked like a mouth on the Tardis monitor..

I agree, the "crack" doesn't look like a normal crack but almost the shape of a mouth. A smiling mouth at that.

How does the cracks in the universe relate to the Pandorica being open (pandoras box)? To let in what cybermen, daleks etc.

Well the "real" original Cybermen are returning as are the Cybus Cybermen later in the series. Perhaps the cracks are to do with those.

Perhaps when the TARDIS regenerated in TEH something cracked the universe, the pandorica may unleash powers that no time lord should have?!

I don't care what the crack in the universe is, as long as the monster on the other side of it isn't Rose Tyler!

Erm the "real" Daleks are back. The ones we've had since Davro's reappearance were from his DNA.

Actually, it looks like it was there all along - it was only visible when the TARDIS faded out.

I'd say the cracks are a result of the Doctor messing with time, he's now going to deal with what he has done. The cracks are scattered around the universe and probably Tardis can cause them, too, with the time travel. I'd say the Doctor went off the rails in RTD's specials for the benefit of SM and the new series.

I do like this theory.

The specials were set up such that they appeared self-contained -- so he went off the rails in Waters of Mars, and his punishment was that Wilfred would always find him and cause him to "die".

But the one thing that always struck me as odd was the word "song" seemingly being interchangeable with "life" (i.e. "your song is ending"). It's not just an Ood thing either, because...er..."thingy" that was on the bus said it as well.

I wonder if the song ending has something to do with silence falling?
