But the one thing that always struck me as odd was the word "song" seemingly being interchangeable with "life" (i.e. "your song is ending"). It's not just an Ood thing either, because...er..."thingy" that was on the bus said it as well.
I think that was just a mysterious metaphor. I'd be surprised if it has any relevance beyond the last series' finale.

Actually, it looks like it was there all along - it was only visible when the TARDIS faded out.
It wasn't there when the Doctor took the TARDIS to the Dalek ship.

Well you don't see all of the wall but Amy and Churchill are facing the wall so would have seen it if it was there.

SM has apparently said that something significant happens about half an hour into VotD that people would not pick up on on first viewing.

Some people think he's talking about the crack not being there the first time the TARDIS leaves (which is about 25 mins in I think).

So it may be that the Crack only appears when The TARDIS leaves the Time period or possibly it only appears when Amy leaves.

I agree, the "crack" doesn't look like a normal crack but almost the shape of a mouth. A smiling mouth at that.
only smiling mouth in the show so far is The Apple Amy given to the doctor(11th hour), both do look somewhat alike.

I think the smiling face on the Apple might mean something in current Arc, Its the very first thing Doctor asked for in 11th Hour.

The doctor has said:Time and space is like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff. and the crack is a split in the skin of world.

Amy Pond give The Doctor the smiling apple (ball with skin cracked to form a smile face) when he was just starting inspect the crack, Amy kind just hand the Answer to him.

This picture from 11th hours, looks like a smiling face http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__...econdcrack.png

if i am correct, the smiling mouth crack made by Amy or someone related to Amy.

You could be on to something there. The smiling mouth comment was just an observation. I thought it might of just been coincidence however you might of tapped into something there.

I don't care what the crack in the universe is, as long as the monster on the other side of it isn't Rose Tyler!
It's Graham Norton resurrecting the gay agenda

Maybe the Doctor isn't the real Doctor...he's an alternative Doctor brought in for a couple of seasons caused by the crack in time then it will all transpire that DT comes out the shower to hear Donna/Rose saying about a terrible dream she'd had

(and I'm joking....I like MS....and for the younger posters its a Dallas reference lol)

Something else I've noticed (though I'm sure I'm not the only one) is the amount of "atmosphere shells" in the first episodes....

In the second ep it was used to give some air for Amy floating about above the TARDIS, in the third it was to allow the Spitfires to attack the Dalek saucer... (and not take the advanced spitfires to attack the Germans that were coming for London...but anyway!)

And in the last ep River asked for a Air corridor to assist with her escape from the Byzantium...(got the name right this time? )

Now I'm sure that's going to come up again in a later ep!

Thanks for the still fanmm, it's much appreciated. When I've googled for Amy's crack all I get is porn and Winehouse videos. Sometimes both.

I've got another possible match for the shape of the crack...if you hold it upside-down.

I think you'd need to stand further to the right than in the photo to get an exact line-up, but the likeness is uncanny.

Right I'm a bit confused about this crack and I think I need it explained in layman's terms by someone who understood the episode better than me.

Doctor says it's bits of space and time that should never meet and the first time they look through it it's to the random prison. Then it shows up on bits and pieces everywhere following amy around. Then it turns up here and suddenly on the other side is 'fire at the end of the universe'? Why does what's on the other side change? What's the end of the universe... is that the end of space or the end of time or both? Why does it mean that time is rewritten and why do the angels and prisoner zero and just about everybody know about it and why do they keep saying 'the doctor in the tardis doesn't know'?

Finally: Do I ask too many questions?

Something probably created it as a tool for erasing time so it can be re-written as they want it to be.

This something is probably the big bad for this season.

Har har har..............

From tonights episode regarding the crack - I loved the quote "How is a duck pond a duck pond if there aren't any ducks"

I think I'd dislike it if the crack made a super-monster that was un-done in the last 2 minutes like the RTD stuff.....

Lol, that actually made me laugh for so long when I read it on the first page.

Prisoner Zero is following Amy from the crack and he's still alive.

Okay hear me out....this may get crazy aaand seem like a bit of a rant! :/

I think prisoner zero has something to do with River!! Heck it may even be River. Dont ask me any reasoning behind it, i just have a feeling prisoner zero has something to do with her. The writer of this series (from previous eps he has done) seems to keep themes, so is it really a coincedence River is a prisoner and one escapes? The prison River is transported to is a spaceship too, like "prisoner zeros"

I know the writer of this series wrote the library ep where the doctor met River in the wrong order. So i think as well as carrying that on with her, it will be a theme right through this series. The crack is the reason the Doctor met River just as she was about to die, as oppose to when they originally first met. And this crack is inter linked between River, The Doctors fate with the new Darleks, all with Amy being the solution.

The Darleks win in some future fight and as a result the crack appears to signal the end of time (because the darleks manipulated time some how and changed the fate of the Doctor actually winning) The doctor escapes in the tardis through the crack....which is why he has no recolllection of it, and they have to correct future events to the way it was uppose to end before time catches up with them and time ends.

Why is it taking so long for time to catch up with them? Because the Doctor passed through it, and as we heard this week he's too powerful for the crack to simply erase him, especially with the power of the tardis too.

On a side note...Amy ignored an inner voice to ever look in the direction of prisoner zero for years...and this week she cant look at the weeping angles? Another theme perhaps?

Taking into account what the Doctor was saying last night about time being re-written, and Amy not remembering the Daleks etc - could it simply be Steven Moffat attempting to erase the past four years of Doctor Who?
