I see you didn't pick up on the negative comments then that were knocking her personality. Quote:

Me too. Just because I think she is weakest atm doesn't mean I hope she performs poorly next week. Quote:

I completely agree she is talented. But unfortunately I also think she is currently the weakest in the competition, But that may not be the case next Saturday.

In case it is not clear the only reason i mentioned about her coming across as nice was because i was reading the opposite about her in this thread. I was giving my opinion like everyone else and was reacting to what i read in this thread. Quote:

I think she's too young and innocent to be "arrogant" or intentionally "mean" to be honest.

Errr did you go to school? Don't you remember being mean to people or people being mean to you? We're capable of it, even at primary school.
5 year olds are capable of it. lol. Is Emilie still a baby, that's really the only age people can't have the intention to be cruel. even then i'm not so sure.

She was my favourite i think last night. Some of the judges just want her out now so the horrible comments have stepped up a gear.

The only reason she is still on the show is cos people feel sorry for her and she turned on the tears. Its very unfair that she is being kept over much better singers like Bronte and Dani and its totally ridiculous the likes of Danielle and Lauren being in the bottom 2 and Emilie still being safe.

I've watched plenty of these shows and I know the British public always feel sorry for the underdog and once she started crying the votes would coming flooding in.

I like Emilie. She doesn't always hit the notes as perfectly as some of the other girls do, but there is a lot of personality that comes out when she sings and I like that. She is always good in the group songs too. I am glad that she has made it through this week.

Man, gappy Langford sucks!
Let's hope she's bottom two next week. I'll be over the moon (and so will she!). |

I really felt for Emilie last night and tonight. Seeing her clearly in the process of breaking down backstage was really uncomfortable and VTs aside, her confidence seemed to be at a really low ebb. I'm not a particular fan of hers and really think she should have been bottom two both last week and this but I do think tonight was her best performance of the competition so far, yet she got the worst comments. I'd begun to think I just didn't like her voice all that much, but I actually think she's got a nice tone when she goes up into her higher range. In my opinion the panel did her a disservice by glossing over her faults in the first two weeks, because this week they obviously decided the honeymoon period was over and suddenly started giving the criticism that she deserved two weeks ago. Had they said something two weeks ago and last week, they could have acknowledged her improvement this week. As it was, Emilie had no warning that they might suddenly turn on her.
I hope she's out in the next couple of weeks for her own sake. And yes, I really do mean that. I liked her the first week and was pleased she got the wildcard vote, but I now just think she's in no way ready for this. Quite apart from anything else, this competition is always going to end up focussing on vocal ability and from the sounds of it, her strengths lie in acting and dancing at the moment. She needs time to mature though, both vocally and in general terms, and she's not going to have that time if she wins the role of Dorothy. |

100% agree with you. This was her best performance yet and the comments about the meaning of the song and the male dancer were nothing to do with her. She didn't choreograph it! Emilie seems like a lovely girl and the british public know how to back an underdog.

I am sorry to say this but I cant look at Emilie without her reminding me of Joan Sims from the Carry On films in her younger days.
Her face is a dead ringer for her and the gap in her teeth is also. I just cannot take her seriously, it is a shame. |

I've only just got round to watching the show and you are absolutely right. Sheila Hancock and John are talking out of their backsides. That was such a lovely vocal from Emilie, her best ever. The utter stupidity of this panel. The choreography had nothing to do with Emilie . Why they put that bloke there was totally confusing to Emilie and us the viewers. Don't they know Moon River is about a river. Nasty stuff from this John bloke.
Also I've always thought of 'Moonriver' as an introspective song, kind of like a person singing their thoughts out loud to themself - so I thought the 'dancer' was out of place.I also can't understand why the panel were going on about wanting to watch how the girls danced and then gave a few of them ballads to sing! Odd. I'm not an Emilie fan but I thought she sang quite well on Saturday night and that the comments about her not engaging with the dancer were just picking fault for the sake of it. She must have a lot of support and some of 'em (the Lord) don't want to be thwarted like he was when Jodie won IDA

She is terrible, we can't understand how she is staying in each week, will become a joke as more and more talented singers leave if she stays in.

People think that Emilie thought too much off herself for her comments to VT..... I'm guessing that all the girls do a piece to VT and at stages they all 'big' themselves up, it just depends on what the production crew decided to show.

The girls are asked specific questions until they give the answers the producers want. All reality shows work this way, the VT is always manipulated.
Lauren and Jess have already been subtly branded cocky, this week was Emilie's turn. Next week someone else will get it, and Emilie will get good VT. Swings and roundabouts, sadly not everyone votes on performance. These girls are all young, the producers should know better than to screw their chances by doing this. |

Myself and my daughter thought Emilie was the best last night. It was a beautiful rendition of Moon River and I felt the judges comments were very harsh. Hope she stays as she has never come across as arrogant in our eyes.
Here is the link to the show: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...w_Programme_7/ jump to pretty much dead-on the thirty minute mark . She is so off-key it is, quite frankly, painful. The judges should have commented on this to stop it looking like they were picking on her. mentioning the dance was pointless when she was so out of tune. |

I've just watched the group performances from the first live show (when she was with Amy, Danielle and Claire Hillier) and she more than held her own in 'If My Friends Could See Me Now' despite being in a group with 3 very big voices. The Emilie in that performance is very different to the Emilie i've been seeing for most of the shows since. All these people on here questioning why she was the wildcard based on her performances after being named the wildcard are looking at things wrong.
I actually think Saturday was a big improvement on the 2 Saturdays previously and her best yet. With the right song i think she can deliver. I don't think she is as bad as a lot of people are making out. Nerves probably got the better of her for the first live show involving a solo performance and she probably just needs more time than others to get confident up there by herself. She sounds and looks much more comfortable when singing the group songs. Her confidence has slowly been dropping and now it has been well and truely kicked out of her thanks to John on Saturday. I found his comments completely unnecessary. I'm all for constructive criticism but he really went for her and it came across as nothing more than bitchy. I'm not an Emilie fan. She isn't one of my favourites. But some of the comments i've been reading on this forum are bordering on childish and pathetic. All these posters saying she should go home before the better girls i agree with, but for Emilie's sake just as much as for the better girls sake. |
