What are you basing that on?

Spoiler
In fact the Daleks, or at least one Dalek, will be in the finale, as Nicholas Briggs and Barnaby Edwards were spotted on location.

The thread title is rather misleading. Your making a guess but almost stating it as fact in the title.

Why don't you think they're in the finale?

I not saying there not in the final, just have not seen any which indicate the daleks are in the series final

Perhaps you haven't been looking in the right places...

I'd love a Christmas two-parter but would be very surprised if we get one - it'll be back to the Christmas Day episode.

Agreed! For a moment I thought there was a breaking story about the Xmas special!

There's no confirmation about anyone or anything being in the finale as of yet - and I really doubt they'll pay off such a huge cliffhanger in a (presumably) somewhat light hearted Christmas special. Mind you, Daleks in Manhattan...

I think it's very likely they'll be in the finale, they're perfectly set up for it. I predict that the finale will involve River returning to fight the Daleks alongside the Doctor and Amy

Spoiler
How does that prove anything baring in mind he also does the voices for the Judoon, Cybermen and any aliens that are yet to come, let alone any that might be created for that specific episode?

Nicholas Briggs yes, but Barnaby Edwards job is to sit in the Daleks. He's done it since series 1.

I think there should be a random standalone dalek story at Christmas 2010 (maybe with a special weapons dalek or something) which would mean that the daleks would have fulfilled their annual obligatory appearance (they must appear once each series or the BBC lose the rights to use them, and the Xmas Special falls under the Series 6 production codes).

Then they can appear as the Big Bad in Series 7 or something.

I work at the location and Daleks were there plus some mind blowing surprises.

like?

NB - I wouldn't like the Daleks to be the big bad this year. Not due to overuse, but because I feel that the awesomeness of their return to power in Victory does not deserve to be followed up in a great hurry. It would be better if they returned at Chrismas, or even in 2011/12. That way, we have a wait until we see them again, playing with feelings of tension for a bit.

Really sorry but I cant give more details, dont want Mr Moffett sending the heavy mob around and it really would spoil a massive surprise for the finale.

No hints then? Give us a really vague hint...

eg is there a returning villain?

or something vaguer...

surely The Moff & co don't know who you are based on your username?

Give us something vague, and not only will I leave you in peace, if your hint turns up in the finale, we will all know you are telling the truth

Possibly might be an idea to put direct replies to spoilers in spoiler tags?

when you post a reply, click "go advanced". above the text box, there are several icons that will alter that way your text can be read. click on the grey S (on the far right.) anything you type will then be in spoiler tags.

NB -- didn't realise! welcome to the forums!

but hasnt Steven Moffat stated that we wont be seeing them again this season! he said that they needed to be away for long enough so that they are missed and can return in all their glory whenever he sees fit!

Christmas isn't really part of this series though.

Hmm. I don't like the coloured Daleks, they are not scary at all; I actually find them quite cheerful. I hope the old Dalek's return.

Oh, and maybe Nick Briggs could be voicing a new monster.

If the Dalek's must appear in the Christmas episode, can they only be in the final 10 seconds. Imagine a nice light hearted Christmas romp ending with the Doctor leaving his latest adventure and all you hear is a Dalek voice saying "Doct-or" from behind him inside the Tardis.

Nicholas Briggs, as has been mentioned, voices most of the monsters in the show... we already know there's a cyberman in an upcoming episode, for example.

Let's look at final episodes so far:

Series 1: Daleks.
Series 2: Cybermen. And Daleks.
Series 3: The Master.
Series 4: Davros. And Daleks.
Specials: The Master.
Series 5: I'd bet my mortgage on an old enemy. Any ideas?
