Before I had the Humax Foxsat PVR I made do for a short time with a discontinued Pace DS810 High Definition Receiver which I purchased for £99. This was mothballed in the event the Humax was out of service at any time and I needed to watch HD on BBC , (ITV hd was not around at that time).
I recently posted regarding my need to Factory re-set the Humax as the red button ITV facility was not working. I have not yet attempted the re-set as my wife has not yet run down her programming and up till now there has not been much HD content to need urgent , (and in my case perhaps risky) , resolution .
However there has been recent news that ITV is upping its content. This evening my son has said that he is watching ITV HD, (Ray Mears) via his dish on his PC , without it appears any restriction. He knows of my (temporary) Humax problem and my ownership of the Pace. He thinks it is worth trying/re-tuning the Pace to see if it will now get the ITV HD transmission. I have now said to him if it does , I would not mind running the Pace via the output from the Humax (for a further Satellite Receiver).
He has said he is not sure if the Humax can do this or not, i.e provide the Pace with a signal that allows independent viewing of a different channels to the ones currently selected on the Humax tuners.
So two questions, will the Pace get ITV HD now with no problem (no Red Button needed) , and can it be run off the Humax?
If it can I will purchase a length of satellite cable and happily extend my viewing options

ITV 1 HD is now broadcast as a normal fta channel just like BBC HD. Any HD sat box can receive it

Yes thanks Graham , my son has confirmed in the last few minutes that it works ok on his Pace box.
He reckons that it will not work via the Humax.
Also am I right in thinking the Humax is the one machine that cant have it as a "normal" HD channel while the Red Button is not working ?

Sorry problems now over for the obvious reasons.!
I have now discovered channel 119 !.ITV HD which makes the Red Button problem redundant. Thanks for the help, I should have read the Forum more on a regular basis.

Only those with STV, UTV and Channel Islands postcodes now need to use the red button service. If you set a HD recording now from 103 it chooses 119 just as a BBC recording chooses 108 for the HD option
