Lots of people have a lot to say about this series of Doctor who but I'd like to ask what were fans expecting.

More complex plots, a la Blink and GITF.

Scarier stories.

Even though no one was ever really in any danger? It didn't even eat the children!

And defusing a bomb through the power of love seems straight out of the RTD playbook to me.

(1) A Doctor more reminiscent of Classic Who Doctors.

(2) No romantic nonsense between the Doctor and his companion. Strictly platonic between Eleven and Miss Pond, please.

(3) No mother-of-companion appearing in every other story.

(4) More Moffat stories in the same league as Blink, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, Girl In The Fireplace and Silence In The Library/Forest Of The Dead.

Has certainly delivered on (1).

Has so far delivered on (2), but I suppose that could still change, unfortunately.

Has delivered on (3), unless the rumour that River Song is Amy's mum is actually true.

Has yet to deliver on (4), but I have high hopes for the upcoming two-parter.

Let's she...

She ogles him when he's naked, dumps her fiance on the eve of her wedding to run off with him and says, "Have you ever faniced someone you know you shouldn't" while gazing longingly at him.

I have to concede you've made some good points here. Perhaps I'm deliberately forgetting things like these as I can't really face another Ten-Rose relationship.

An exciting, fresh and new Doctor Who with a brilliant new Doctor and companion. And he's delivered. Loved RTD's era but of course the show needs to change to keep it fresh and Moffat has done a brilliant job.
And the Gay Agenda seems to have vanished...

Wow more complex plots. If you look at the discussion threads for the previous episodes you will see a large number of people saying "wow im confused" or "this episode is confusing" and this was for 11th Hour. I mean come on '20 minutes to save the world' How on earth is that confusing. To some people here watching Series 5 of Doctor was like watching the movie 'Memento'

At the moment, she only seems to fancy him a little. It's more a case of awe, or maybe timelord-envy as opposed to the full blown love of Rose and Martha.

Pretty much what we are getting: a continuation of a bloody good tv programme.

You're forgetting the creepy handmade Doctor & Amy dolls that might have been OK for a child but she still has out as an adult.

A fresh start with a very promising looking Doctor and companion, and even better - no David Tennant or Catherine Tate

The gay agenda thing always made me laugh. I couldn't see it myself.

Personally, I'd like it made clear the Doctor is clever one. Companions are diverting the magic a little.

No...stop insulting people's intelligence....the plots we have had so far are not comlex at all...the reason they are being questioned is because they are full of plot holes. Not unless you want to suggest that Blink is not Complex...because you haven't got many people questioning that......or leaving thme confused in a bad way instead of a fun like the last three have...

If you look throught the eleventh hour discussion thread quite a few people were saying it s quite confusing as did many people for The Beast Below. Just because something is not explained does not make it a plot hole. And i've just been thinking how??

And could you point out a few plot holes for me for the previous episodes as some people like to think if it doesn't make sense to them it's a plot hole.

And yet when RTD was in charge if something wasn't explained it was a pot hole.

We're told that Bracewell has had ideas for other technology apart from Daleks. Ideas. And yet in less time than it takes for the Germans to reach London from the coast they're able to make Spitfires with laser guns that travel in space and train pilots to fly them. How does that work?

That is fine that you don't think its confusing, but still its not fair to have a laugh at the expense of those that do....I'm getting tired of the usual comments from some posters who keep saying that anyone who was confused was either not paying attention or doesn't have the capability to understand intelligent scripts.

As for plot holes....they are listed in their numbers by those who have pointed them out in the actual threads.

I have no issue with the fact that there are plot holes or not, or whether they can be explained away or not...what I have an issue with is people dimissing those who bring them up as the plot being too complex for them. Because the reason they are pointing it out isn't because its complex, its because they have found a hole....

I'm not laughing at the people who don't understand i'm perfectly fine with people who find episodes confusing it's just that with 'The Eleventh Hour' that has the simple plot of 20 minutes to save the world by stopping the bad guy I just cant see how people were finding it confusing.
