would make the best Dorothy?

In my opinion, I think definitely Stephanie. She has a genuine warmth of personality not dissimilar to Jodie (talented but 'one of the people' types) that would work so well in the media - being a jovial scouser probably helps! She seems fearless and eloquent which I think is so important in the many tv, magazine, radio interviews that she would inevitably have to do. As a result I think she would be a great asset to the show and ticket sales. In fact I could see her becoming a well known household name (and no ...... I am not a relative or a friend )

Second to her I would say Sophie but more from a beauty point of view. The media always loves a beautiful face. Shallow but true.

I always forget Stephanie is there until somebody mentions her on here, I also think there are far more attractive girls than Sophie, but that is just my opinion

I don't think Stephanie is the full package - but I think she is the closest we've seen to date.

I do find her wide eyed stage school enthusiasm a little theatrical and I'd like to see her tone it down - but in other respects she comes across as completely natural and, most importantly her talent is unquestionable (imo).

It's terribly bad, but I really do find Stephanie's accent driving me insane.

I think Sophie or Stephanie would be best from the PR view though.

I had to look at the Dorothy website just to confirm things in my head.

I don't want to sound poncy and I'm very interested to hear what others have said but having read up a bit on PR, Marketing and Advertising as this is the career path I am likely to take, I would say there are 3 girls who are the sorts who would allow and facilitate good PR.

1.) As Clarkia said, Stephanie. She is that down-to-earth, bubbly, smiley person who would come across very well and have an amicable relationship with the media. She's not a threat, she's pretty/attractive but not so much so that people would be jealous of her or would constantly go on about it, a la Miss Cole. That kind of thing is, frankly, getting very old. Stephanie would be great to market, put on a TV show, everything.

2.) Lauren is my second choice but for totally different reasons. She comes across as mature, professional, talented and slightly more highbrow in comparison to the other girls. No crazy, drunken stories coming out in the media, very good at what she does and keeps it purely professional. Perhaps in this day and age people see that kind of thing as a veneer that is fake and is hiding the real person. However, someone like Lauren wouldn't cause a PR crisis and would uphold her own reputation as well as the reputation of whoever she was working with and for and what she was working on. Known to keep the curtain up.

3.) My third choice is Sophie and yet again, for totally different reasons. She is quite clearly a very sweet girl and incredibly beautiful. As one other posted suggested, the media love a real beauty and she has that aura of by-gone glamour in her look. However, she doesn't appear to seem as if she knows how attractive looking she is so again, not someone who girls would be jealous and therefore nasty about. Men would love her, she'd be a media mega star if she got together with a well-known and handsome actor therefore becoming a veritable PR success and would attract attention to whatever she was doing or starring in.

Anyway, that's my take on it! In my honest opinion, the other girls would either be total PR car-crashes or just wouldn't be overly great to market, mostly thinking of Jessica and Emilie here and the others just don't seem to make as much of an impact in terms of PR.

I forgot to add who I think would be best from a PR point of view and that would be Lauren.

Strangely despite the flak Emilie has attracted (she's the weakest contestant, she can't sing etc) she's still there.

Any half decent PR consultant could make that work in her favour.

You could be right there ! I can see the headlines now 'Controversial winner of OTR' or 'Wildcard wins OTR'. It would certainly bring a lot of publicity to the show - maybe not for the right reasons though. The critics would be sharpening their pencils in anticipation ! ! But if she surprised them and was trained and coached well in the months leading up to the opening (she would need a lot of training) and was actually pretty good then it would be amazing for her.
Maybe she would be asked onto daytime TV to talk about 'how to hold your head up high when all around are criticising you' - she could become a good role model for women for women who lack confidence, encouraging them to weather the storm and emerge with their heads held high. You are correct Ignazio, with the right PR consultant, the possibities are definitely there (I still don't want her to win though )

From a PR point of view I would think that Steph, Lauren, Emilie and Jessica would be the most interesting Dorothy's.

I would like to see Jess or Emilie as Dorothy. The exact reasons I can't pin down because there are obviously better singers (Lauren and Steph for instance) and better all rounders (Stephanie), but those 2 just do it for me. In group numbers, I seek them out. I rarely see anyone else and my mum has found it the same.

Jess' short comings are obviously easier to overcome than Emilie's, as they won't really have to sing pop if they get the gig will they? The 2 are fabulous on MT songs and perform with every bit of their beings. But if we continue to just make all the girls sing pop then we risk never seeing their true abilities.

I do think Stephanie will win, because as clarkia has said, she has the 'common touch' Jodie had. I don't mean that in a disparaging way at all, but it's the simplest way of putting it.

I would love to see Lauren as Evita, Jess as Calamity Jane, and Danielle as somebody though not Sally Bowles after last week.

Forgot to say, why don't I fancy Sophie then?

I find loads of the girls beautiful and attractive but I just don't 'get' the Sophie love.

Perhaps it's because I like the quirky ones?
