I am no expert on this but I really cringe when she is dancing, she is terrible, nevermind the faces she pulls.

People go on about Emilie, but Jessica for me is far worse.

she needs to stop bending down so much.... the trouble is that she is one of the tallest girls, so I guess she is aware of this in the group dances/songs

She is a great MT comical performer, but the gurning doesn't really fit with the pop songs. She just got away with it on 'rehab', but it was a rad OTT on 'crazy little thing called love'.

Still love her though, she gives it her all

She does give it her all, but Dorothy is not the role for her in a million years. I think she is probably a sweet girl but she seems very naive to me. I would find it difficult to say if she has a future in MT. When she inevitably loses her naivety perhaps this robs her of her strongest asset? Hopefully she wil get a place at a stage school in London and if the talent is there it will out.

I agree with you on that point. I think she certainly does have a future in the business, but she is more Calamity Jane than Dorothy.

I hope she stays gawky and awkward forever because it is her greatest asset.

Yes me too. This is her unique selling point as everyone seems to need these days! Whatever happened to she's blooming (for want of using a stronger word and getting banned) good.

I think she is brilliant. So lively & dynamic. I didn't even like the song 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' until I saw her performance of it.

Why can't Dorothy be a young Calamity Jane? There is very little story and not many great songs otherwise. Its not SOM musically, its not got much real drama beyond a mild panto kind and there's not much comedy. There is enough to please a 30s or 50s audience but not enough for any modern one. If they don't add some characterisation and /or humour to Dorothy I doubt if people will go and if they add it what else could it be but a move towards Annie or tomboy Dorothy - reclusive Dorothy or nerdy Dorothy won't play either.

She could dance in the top 20 show, I don't believe she's lost the ability to dance in four weeks.

I'm not sure what they want. What they critique one girl from they praise another for.

If Andrew is after an Amy Winehouse Dorothy (never mind that she was a 12 year old in the film, according to the lord) then the panel shouldn't be telling the girls they don't like their rough-around-the-edges bits.

I can't wait to see her do somewhere over the rainbow, she didn't pull faces during 'the voice within' but it was certainely her at her most ordianiry IMO.

I love Jess and that is the sole reason she won't win. See also Jessie and Daniel Boyes

And you felt the need to go the trouble to open a new thread to tell us this when there are umpteen other threads of a similar ilk? Jessica's dancing is no worse than your favourite, blank eyed wanna-be's.

He wants an innocent Amy Winehouse who dances like she has done ballet since age 2 but looks like a farm girl. He wants someone who isn't like Judy Garland but two of his top5 are the spitting image. He wants someone who can grab the audience singing Over the Rainbow but he's sent three home, kept one away from any song that could prove she could and sent one who proved she could into purgatory this week with something completely irrelevant.

Its not even clear if he knows who he wants and is manouvering for her or he's as confused as we ought to be.

I think he's looking for Jessie.

Jessica dances like she's had a bit too much to drink.

Was it just me or did others get the impression the other girls weren't keen on Jessica and not just because no one said they would miss her.

As a matter of interest no one said they would miss Daniella either but two said they would miss Steph and two would miss Dani.

In what other ways have you notticed this to be true. Perhaps she gets on their nerves a bit. But I haven't seen any evidence.

Well when she went to the bench after her name was called they didn't all rush and hug her like they did with the others.

Now there's an idea

Jessica's 'dancing' is hilarious, it was awful during 'All that Jazz' but it actually made me warm to her

Didn't Jessica say that Bronte was her best friend in the competition? Bronte probably would have said her if she hadn't left, then, it just happens that Jessica's a bit without a best friend in the Dorothy house now that Bronte's gone.

That part of the show right annoys me. I don't really care who's best friends with who & who'll be missed. I'm not going to vote to keep someone in just cos all their mates will miss 'em

I actually think Lloyd Daniels did a better job of CLTCL last year on x-factor. She didn't get the song at all. Freddie Mercury is probably spinning around in his grave once again.

Jessica always gives it the old, little lost puppy routine as well. pouty lip. She could still be Totto, you never know.

I actualy do like her despite all her faults though. Well I see them as faults, others might see them as qualities.

It's really her singing that's the problem for me, I find it average so far. I could live with the crazy acting, it's amusing. And the dancing, although I can see she's not the best, with lessons she could improve.
