Although Jessica had a bad week, I think she has just been brought up with that very stage school mentality of projecting to the back row which comes across really badly on tv. Connie suffered from that a bit. Steph, by contrast, has more of a pop approach but as it is more suited to tv it never seems out of place in the way Jessica does

Although her performance at the weekend was somewhat awkward, I loved her exaggerated facial expressions. While that may not be suitable for 'Dorothy', I got actual entertainment from her, something that was lacking from most of her fellow competitors.

Perhaps they see her as competition? After reading the comments on this forum and the sheer nastiness displayed then it would seem to be a pretty good guess.

Why would they see Jessica as the one to beat when she has been getting poor comments from the judges.

I don't get it, why people think the others don't like her. They probably do. She's always seen having a laugh with the others.

That is a brilliant post the networkbabe. Of all musicals he has done this is the most difficult to cast. Too young and its too much to expect them to carry a West End show, too old and they don't fit the character. Maria was far easier where the most important requisite was an excellent singing voice.
Judy had it far easier where she could record the songs in the studio and mime on film.

Jessica said herself that she wasn't a good mover; can't remember her exact words. She's a girl who seems able to laugh at herself a bit; it's one of her most appealing qualities.

Ever since someone on here mentioned her playing the role of Miss Hannigan in Annie, I can't see her doing anything else!
