Don't really like it. Too safe and Plain Jane - even self-indulgent - for me to stomach.

i like the song, not really a fan but she's a guilty pleasure to hear, All The Lovers is her best song since her Fever era 9 years ago!!! could be her best album yet...she took her time!!

also, she has evidently been inspired by Madonna for this album by using Stuart Price for the producer of the album, i doubt it'll reach the heights of CONFESSIONS ON A DANCE FLOOR! (the greatest pop album of the last decade and another Madge triumph!) but it will be a joyous album and as they will be segued like COAD and will be a 12 track dance album, it should be a #1 album due to demand for it! her first since Fever i think??!? if nothing else.

Xtina's BIONIC is at the top of my list for must own albums this year, but i want Robyn's,Scissor Sisters,Kelis',Katy Perry's,Janelle Monae and Britney's albums set for this year are also up there.

gonna get Aphrodite for my mum as she is a big Kylie fan and i think this song has got me interested in her again, so synthy and breezy and while in comparison to other songs...it aint a masterpiece! but on it's own, could be one of the better dance songs you will hear this year!

overall,4/5

All the lovers is a fantastic return and so much stronger than any single released of X, this is strong lead single and also a song that grows and grows each time its played. I think this will Kylie another number 1 and be quite a big summer hit. Welcome back Kylie.

Really disappointing, and I'm a huge Kylie fan. I just find it pretty bland and boring. I hope there's stuff I like more on the new album.

anyone remember Nick Kamen's I Promised Myself?
I think Kylie does!

I like it.

I don't love it — not going to get carried away saying it's the best thing since sliced bread, but reiterating what the other posters have said the song has a nice, summery feel about it.

Good that she moved the release date forward 2 weeks. A month and a half is far too long to wait from radio release to official release I think.

I think I'm the only one who thinks it's shite. I will buy the album though as I'm a big Kylie fan.

Not a huge Kylie fan though most f her stuff is ok, but i LOVE this. Already got it on my ipod, phone and cd for the car Trouble is I loved it (and particularly the 80's synth hook) on first hearing, so I know that by the time it hits the charts I'll be turning the radio off when its on

i think whether it charts at the top spot or not will depend more on the radio play and the video itself being released.
it could happen, by the sound of it it will be a guaranteed top 5 smash! i mean it is no legendary song exactly! i mean it may not be a remember iconic song, but it is so much better than a lot of songs outthere right now, anything can happen really.
atm i am gutted that Xtina's didnt get the promotion it deserved at the time and charted at #12 today (still could change in time though...hate how she is getting dismissed though).
i mean the synth style and europop has been mastered by Madge in 2005! but ATL is dated in a good way, it bring that summer vibe which is important and has that breathy feel to it that makes the best Kylie tunes! but i do feel we hadn't heard all the best of Kylie until now! i mean in the late 80's she was so overrated and now when she sounds better she loses the momentum.
still Light Years and Fever are her best albums! and Aphrodite will be a top 5 hit of an album for sure which will depend on the quality of the singles entirely! and the promotion it has

but i keep listening to it as much as Acapella and Not Myself Tonight, it's really beautiful and while she doesn't bring anything new to the table she brings this energy and joy which is always lovely!!
also, wouldnt be surprised if she is on The X Factor this Winter! to perform a later single off of the album.

i think i am going to give ATL a 5/5 (rarely give that rating, and the first time i have given that rating to a Kylie tune!) well done

Good post Josh. I am suprised that Xtina has not done better this time. I have to say I reallly like All the Lovers. The production on the track is really great. Definitely going to be a big hit. Stuart Price is great. love Invisible Light by the Scissor Sisters too.............

yeah i actually LOVE Invisible Light , not sure which i prefer, but i think his work on Madonna's Confessions album is UNBEATABLE! i mean that is an album that is one of many Madonna has made that's got me through a lot (Like A Virgin,True Blue,Like A Prayer,Erotica,Ray Of Light and Music are the other EPIC albums) i mean it's not a pop record, it's a concept and journey, it is an album that no one else can do as it is a living artform!it's a three dimensional album that i wish more video's accompanied it!

but what Stuart has done here is slightly different and softer, for Scissor Sisters he's gone a bit GLAMMY and for Kylie he has gone more retro and echoes back to those early 90's tunes married to the Fever era which is just so authentic! it's an image that should re-inroduce herself to the public like Can't Get You Outta My Head did! i am looking forward to see what will become of Aphrodite, certainly gonna be better than her last two albums i am sure!
but i also hope Xtina will grow in sales too, i mean a lot of the stuff in the top 10 are rediculous, i only am pleased Kelis is holding on in the top ten with Acapella

but i think Kylie will get a good position with the correct promotion, a good video and some live performances (?).
should be good

Kyl;ie usually gets very strong air play in general, she is doing some sort of live show on itv to launch the album which will also benefit all the lovers. Whether this gets to number 1 or not it will still do well, i hope she releases all the lovers in either a 2 cd set or a cd and vinyl.

I'm sorry, but the new album name, "Aphrodite", whenever I read it, I immediately register it as "hermaphrodite".

you're not the only one, when the title was announced i immediately thought it and said to myself, wow Kylie has a sense of humour after all!!
but i think that it's called this as the concept behind it is about love in general (but this time i think it's goingto be a theme rather just for the sake of it lets go all soppy! like previous material of hers).

also sometimes i do qwuestion titles for some albums, some sound brilliant and the album matches while others appear random and ultimately may be one of the best things that you ever hear, you can't really judge until you have heard something really.
i mean when Madonna released Hard Candy people thought oh...okay! but then when more news was given and the sense of direction i think her fanbase was certainly challenged but when she released it the response was positive and I thought it was one of the best albums of 2008 to say the least, not just because i was a fan but because i could HEAR the songs, some gave it a listen and then dismissed it but the ones who loved it HEARD it! and while it wasn't one of her BEST albums(LAV,TB,LAP,Erotica,ROL,Music,COAD are revolutionarily EPIC) it was certainly a really good one!
also when thriller was announced as an album title some must have thought, hmmm okay! but of course that is now the biggest album of all time! so it just shows really.

while Aphrodite doesnt do much it may be one of the best album this year actually, i wont judge it by title but by sound, and if ATL is anything to go by i think i will like it!
i think, Bionic, Flesh Tone,Plastic Beach,Night Work and Aphrodite may be MY albums of 2010 by the looks of things, also really love Ellie Goulding's too

an ITV show would be really good too, i mean i hated Cheryl's and a few of the A Night With...(Take That etc.etc.) but this one could actually work if done properly.

REALLY?!?!? if it did then i'd be hating it!! those were her worst albums with only 4 good tunes between them! (and by good i mean beareable!) i felt she more or less came into her own in 2001 with that Light Years and Fever sound, she tried to be Madonna waaaaaaaaaay too much but in such a sappy way, Confide In Me was the most authentic song that was closest to Madonna's sound IMO, but with Light Years and Fever it was a newer electronic sound that was a different spin on what Madonna did on her Music and American Life albums which were experimental electronica (and are fantastic!) while Kylie went for the Euro electronica sounds (which was also fantastic!) but i sometimes dont understand the sales for when she released poor albums to be honest, maybe it was due to her being on Neighbours which was as popular as 'Enders at the time?? who knows!?! but Quadruple Platinum for her first two albums is just so...strange to say the least! nowadays if anyone released an album like that thay'd be lucky (no pun!) to see a Silver certification!

but i feel that this will be her third best album she's had by the sounds of it, again it's homage to Madonna...but different, it's not your contemporary electonic sound (Gaga i am fed up with now!) now that electro R&B sounds or Hip Hop (Bey and Jay-Z yawn!) it goes with the flow of what makes the best tunes this year (Gorrillaz Stylo,Kelis' Acapella,Xtina's Not Myeslf Tonight).
Stuart Price provides a different sound here, yes it isn't the masterpiece of Confessions but what will be?!?! the point is that it's got Kylie back to her 2000's sound with her lighter than air pure vocals that shows you don't need to be an excellent singer to get your point across. 2010 has seen the pop scene re-ignited somewhat by these new albums being released.
Aphrodite while the album title is a bit...strange will certainly be a hit as her UK fanbase is so diverse (almost like Take That who i dont really like these days! but still) but while she isn't exactly LEGEND status, she is an icon of the music scene and will be remembered! and All The lovers may or may not be a hit, i thought the same for Xtina's NMT last week but it just missed out! at #12 (i hope it gets higher) but Kyie will be played a fair bit i am sure so there's no excuse fo it not to be a top 5 smash!

Sorry to nitpick but Light Years was released before Madonna's Music and American Life albums and Fever was released a few weeks after Music (American Life was released 2 years after Fever) so she couldn't have tried to do a different spin on what Madonna had already created as it didn't exist.

Edit - Just double checked. Light Years was released at the same time as Music and Fever was released the year after. American Life was a year and a half after Fever.

I think it does sound too old fashioned. Music changes so fast. This sounds dated. imo. I love Kylie though. Can't wait for the album.
