Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but so far i think Karen Gillan is the big hit.
Matt Smith had a hard act to follow, but he's gradually growing on me.
I think he may need a series to prove himself

I think Matt and Karen have been fantastic, as were the first two episodes.

However, I thought the third, Dalek, episode was poor. From the previews it sound like the next two episodes are going to be pretty special though.

Overall, better than the first few episodes of the RTD era so far, though.

Am loving it. Second episode a bit lacklustre, and don't understand the problems people have with the dalek episode.

The series feels like a breath of fresh air, and MS is perfect.

the new series is a very beautiful thing indeed. In fact I would like to have it's hand in marriage, find a nice cottage in the countryside and raise a family with it.

I am in love.

I'm loving it! And Matt Smith is just so right in the role.
And we're only three episodes in!

So the Doctor saying "Mate" to the Daleks didn't put you off then????

for me, as episodes go, only TBB has hit the mark....

But I can't fault Matt or Karen...although she didn't get much of chance to shine in the last story for me....but that blame falls on the pacing of the episode more than Karen's performance.

I'm loving it, and I think MS is brilliant as the new doctor.

However, I love all things Dr Who and liked the previous New Who series and particularly the one with Catherine Tate as well, so it's not a surprise to me that I'm liking this one.

Only one day **dances around in a strange way**. I hope it's not too scary, as my sofa cannot be moved away from the wall.

Cushions. You obviously need more cushions

OT: New series gets big tick. VotD was a bit of a disappointment but other than that liking it so far. Matt Smith is very good. It must be hard for one so young to play one so old, but he succeeds. Also liking Ms Gillian and I wasn't at all sure I would. Loving Moffat's writing.

Love the new series and Matt and Karen but one gripe can the bledding critics stop comparing the two drs gainst each other as they are different people and different drs and have brill producers etc , it drives me mad people saying matt smith is bad or better than tennant, bet though I critized things but I am not a critic and not paid to watch it , though thats a good job , anyway both drs have been ace and both producers though flawed at times have bought us brillant tv treasures ax

I honestly think that when my Specials Box Set and Series 5 Volume 1 DVD arrive I will be able to sit down and watch them through one after the other without suffering any great culture shock - I thought DT went out on highly Christmas Special highnote and MS grabbed the baton and ran with itat Easter.

It also has to be said the RTD/SM decision to keep DT without a regular companion for the Specials paid dividends as it allowed KG to enter like a breath of fresh air (and dare I say it: an air of mystery) without any baggage.

All in all, as transitions go, I'm as happy as The Master with a Double Quarter Pounder and a Bargain Bucket for Four

Wouldn't the Maste be happier with a Family Feast?

Happy with the new series. SM and MS have continued and developed the legend that is Doctor Who - and I am sure oh so many of the plot holes WILL be explained

Started promisingly but has nosedived ever since.

Where is the drama? Where is the pathos? It's reverted back to a children's show for children only with nothing too emotionally taxing for them apart from, you are the bad thing, I am the good one let's run around like we are playing a game of castles and fight.

Even the greatest adversary of the Dr has been turn into a Tonka toy.

The Dalek episode was OK until the moment when they decided to turn 47 years of Dalek history into a great big steaming pile of Lego-looking crap.

Surprised they don't have the Doctor and Amy popping in and out of an iPhone..

So I take it the intriguing and sensitively handled moral dilemma at the centre of The Beast Below passed you by then?

Thankfully the nations youth that sit down with their families to enjoy this fine show week in week out are probably a bit more tuned in to the subtle nuances at play than you are.

I'm really glad to see the back of RTD, DT, family soap BS and all the rest of it, so the new season is a major step forward for me -- I now find Who watchable again. I think Matt is a great Doctor, not sure about KG, but I do feel the scripts so far needed work.

Generally, the show feels poised on a balance between heading for greatness (finding its own identity) and treading water. I feel it could go either way but for the first time in a long time, am optimistic.

"subtle nuances" When Matt the pratt can do a "Family of blood" performance we can talk about them.

True indeed!

You have to love a good troll. How they expertly swerve the issue when challenged on one silly ill informed statement but then go hurtling crash bang into another one

Don't be Matt-ist! I just so happen to share the name, and your comment is deeply offensive to my people

Why the hell is Matt a pratt only because you don't like his performance? and why should he do a "family of blood" performance? After all he is the Doctor...and the Family are stuck in a life long punishment....

Any way Hey Nonny Nonny

Katy Manning is coming back!!!!

I think we can all agree it was a clever little rhyme though wasn't it!

Almost Oscar Wildean in it's outrageous wit and rumbunctious word smithery!
