Hi all,

Im looking for a bit of advice. Im moving house next week & called BT to move my current line over, the advisor told me that the current line was not a BT line and that If i wanted a BT line it would cost me £125. I had a look back through the properties home report to see who the previous provider was and it turned out to talk talk, I phoned them to enquire about a phone line and they said the previous customer had took the line with them, but wanted me to sign up to a 24month package and they could install the line for £70. I went over to the property after these calls to check for a dial tone and there was none, so basically im wondering what my options are.

I was considering o2 home and broadband but the landline package hasnt gone live yet, argh. someone please help a female in distress. This landline malarky is confusing me.

“How to get the deal

This isn't available online; to get it you need to ring 0800 800 150, lines are open Monday to Friday 8am to 9pm, Saturday 8am to 8pm, Sunday 9am to 6pm. When you call, ask for the 'New line free connection offer'.

When BT ran a previous similar offer, there were some reports of people having difficulty getting the deal. BT has assured us the call centre is well briefed so there should be no problems this time.”

is it worth ringing the number quoted and asking ?

Seems pretty good (since they knocked off about £95 off the original price).

Only downside is that you're tied with them for the next 18 months; let's hope nothing goes wrong in that time
