Atraxi - Theory
Hey. I have an amazing theory about the Atraxi and the Tracks. In 'The Eleventh Hour', The Doctor originally sees the Atraxi by opening the Crack, and Prisoner Zero possibly escapes through it, and later mentions that the Pandorica will open. There is rumours that in the Finale, the Pandorica opens, with a few old enemies inside.
So; The Pandorica is a Prison Planet, and the cracks are allowing prisoners to escape. Maybe the Atraxi are guards of the Pandorica? And the Pandorica could be related to the Judoon and Shadow Proclamation? A- Sorry if this is obvious. B- It sounded better when I thought it up. |

'Cos their security was lax, ee(k!) |

Actually, I think this is a good theory. I always envisioned some kind of Prison Planet, but never thought hard enough to piece together how it all fit together. I must ask though,
- Who or what is responsible for the Pandorica opening? - How is Amy Pond tied up to all of this exactly? So many questions, so little time.

I think we'll find the whole thing is being masterminded by an old enemy of the Doctor... Prisoner Zero was simply a pawn to reel the Doctor in.

Prisoner Zero is dead, so it won't be him. It might be the Silurians, but they live on earth.

I think that whoever the villain is, the filming must have been done on set or indoors- there appears to be very little released footage from bystanders and the like. That said, our worst fears could be realised and the cybermen could be the villains of the peace. I sincerely hope not- Moffat has more soul than that for his first series, surely.... |

Yes, and if the silurians are in the second 2-parter I think it would be hugely unwise for them to be the main adversary in the series.

I don't know, maybe 3 years is enough to reintroduce a concept but I get the feeling SM has had an awful long time to come up with his own concepts, whilst being aware of those of the Writers of previous stories...I think it's all a little cleverer than we're being led to believe with the obvious shots of the...okay, everyone's calling it a crack so I will even though it STILL sounds very rude! |

Bump.
Anyway; the Atraxi Eye appeared twice in 'Flesh and Stone', along with the crack, and River being taken to a prison. IMO this kinda confirms my theory

My only gripe with the prison theory is that the Doctor looks disbelieving and says: 'That's only a fairytale' when the Pandorica is mentioned.
He already knows about the prison from which Prisoner Zero escaped, so why would he have a problem believing in the Pandorica unless it was something else? |

I think there is something about the word Atraxi like its an acronym of some sort like in 'Utopia' with Professor Yana and Yana being an abbreviation of You Are Not Alone the Face of Boe's last words.

Didn't they never exist in the first place? Although that causes like a billion problems because the byzantium wouldn't have crashed if there wasn't an angel to crash it...

Could the Pandorica be a museum or a collection of some sorts? Something that is believed to exist but no one has ever found or been able to prove the existence of?
Until now... I don't think it is a prison though |
