Maisey Moo
25-04-2010
So glad its owner found the kitten. In the last 18 months i have found 1 kitten about 5wks old, 1 18 month old cat maisey moo who was dumped at the local park, another that was brought too me 2 weks later by the school and finaly a 6 wk old kitten that had a broken leg was brought too me in a small carrier it was found on a farm. I am no way a rescue but everbody know i am a animal lover. All the cats that have been brought too me are still here and staying. I did all that i could too find there owners and by the time the rescues had places i had fallen in love with them. I am waiting to become a kitten fosterer shortly with my local CPL shortly as well. I am realy know as the mad cat lady of the villiage as well. I realy think OP you are a caring person as well.

At least you now know 'the story' and the kitten does have an owner.

but not sure it is a happy ending. I hope it does get streetwise, but all too often they don't. Thanks for letting us know - I hope the kitty does well.

There are some cats that are like Houdini - they just won't stay put. We adopted a stray kitten, but every time he was let out he'd just wander off, and we'd get a phone call from someone a mile away to say he'd moved in. One day he didn't come back, and there was no phone call - until 2 months later, from a vet, to say he'd been hit by a car and we were responsible for over £400 worth of vet's bills! We would have taken him back, but sadly he was too badly injured and had to be put down. I'm only telling the story to illustrate that it's not always the owner's fault - some cats are just wanderers and you can't get it out of them.

lippincote no its still a bit of a worry that it will do the same thing again but the owner was as worried about it wandering off as i was so im sure she will try and keep an eye on it.
il be watching out for it now i know where it lives the things so bold for such a young cat maybe it will get a bit of a scare from some of the local moggies for invading territories and settle down a bit.

susie yes thats the thing some cats are just natural roamers almost semi wild and theres not a lot you can do about it my parents have a ginger tom and talk about using the place as a hotel! during the summer months its not unusual for it not to come home for 3-4 days

And the next one will probably be neglected and get squished, too.

And so on and so on until they get fed up replacing them.

If you poke your nose into other people's business, don't come crying back here if you get a slap.”

If the OP was to intervene and tell the owner of this kitten that they are not looking after it properly, do you think that's going to go down well?

I accept that bad people own animals and neglect them, and there's usually not a great deal that I can do about it.”

I'm sorry, I know the issue is resolved to an extent but I had to comment. These comments were by no means helpful, and the OP was, to all intents and purposes not 'poking their nose in'. And no one deserves a 'slap' for being concerned about an animal. And if you are an animal lover, your 'advice' about slaps and crying (mentioned twice) are not useful, supportive or indeed, relevant.

Sorry if I got caught out by a troll but in this instance, I couldn't resist.
