Any thoughts on what could affect picture quality?
I've noticed that for the past couple of days the picture quality when watching freeview through the BT Box has seemed grainy and 'washed out'. Ashes to Ashes last night was terrible...
Watching through the tuner built into my TV seems fine, same as it always does. The aerial is looped through the BT box, so they share the same source, and the box is connected to the tv via a hdmi cable. I've checked all of the settings, and they dont seem to have changed, but the picture quality is definitely off. Any thoughts on anything else that I could check? cheers mike |

sorry. no ideas.
seems pretty strange. Only thing I can think is the tuner is struggling to process parts of the stream. my reception is normally pretty good, but depending on the weather some of the (poorer) channels are unwatchable due to poor signal quality. what's the signal strength application in the settings saying ? it has a meausrement indicator of signal strength and signal quality. |

Thanks Guys, I have checked the signal strength and quality - strength over 90 % across the channels and quality 100%.
I'll try the retuning tip, cheers... it still looks a bit odd, more pixely and washy than the picture through the tv tuner. cheers mike |

Don't forget a lot of the TV transmitters are running on a lower power level at the moment whilst they progress to the digital switchover.
Check this link out http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/how_do_i_...ineering_works it explains that some areas will be on reduced power for a while |
