Yes, I know that. The bishop mentioned her criminal past in the latest episode too. We don't have any idea what prisoner zero's crime was at this point so it doesn't change the possibility.

look at this way - she knows the Doctor's real name, she kinda looks like a younger version of the woman from Tennant's final episode who people believe to be the Doctor's mother, and presumably if that person was a Time Lord, then they'd have the same amount of lives/reincarnations, and time isn't linear, so why couldn't it be the Doctor's mother, live out an ENTIRE timeline as River, and then still get back to the Time War to die with the rest of the Time Lords.
they did drop the hint that whatever River's secret is, it's not as simple as being his wife, so why can't it be his mother? who else could he trust almost implicitly apart from his own family?

Could be worse, they could have been inspired by H2G2 and called her River Trent or something.

We know the master will most likely be in Jail within the time lock. Whats to say he didnt get out and regenerate as a woman.

We saw River die didn't we, I can't remember what happened to her body though.....did it disintegrate?

Interesting theories, but...
the Doctor has stated that he'd know if there were any Time Lords left - the only reason he didn't feel the Master was because the Master used a chameleon arch.
It's implied the Doctor will tell River his name, rather than have been given it by her "there's only one person I would tell my name to, only one time I could". (Which sounds sort of Weddingy) (or deathy!)
Time Lords are forbidden to meet each other out oof sequence - it's one of the Laws of Time. Clearly the Doctor and River do exactly that. Repeatedly.
I thought the comment about not being as simple as being a wife was more a reference to the non-linear and unorthodox nature of their relationship. And the fact they are different species.
I think she will be responsible for the Eleventh Doctor's death and regeneration...

That's my reckoning as well, the lines about her learning her tricks from the best then the aside to the doctor that he wasn't there that day would link up with their mutual education as timelords.

I think she might be, but there's some other link to the Doctor as the crack seems to either be following him or he is causing it?

I think she's a con artist.
I think she met a much later version of the Doctor early in her own timeline. Since then she's been convincing every version of the Doctor she meets that there's more to their relationship in the Doctor's future timeline. Therefore he's more receptive to helping her.

I have been avoiding this place for a while so I could avoid spoilers but I got the impression that she could be his mother from watching Confidential.
I know in the 1996 film that he was described as half human, but I thought that idea had been dropped completely. Do you know if this is the case?
