Personally i am not a fan of the new tardis.

I had hoped that it would grow on me but four episodes in i still do not like it.

I think the interior is an improvement. The outside does look very shiny and new. Maybe too shiny?

Like the decor, HATE the console, with its hot and cold taps, grammaphone, typewriter and other stuff normally found on a rubbish tip and its new time rotar...hate hate hate!

Yes it does look a bit naff and blue peter-ish. The comic effect is not really working for me.

But I do want to see more of the Tardis - other rooms, too, and to gently scratch away at the mystery of the Tardis and create some "wow" moments. Then again, we all know all too well that something that gets explained would have folk up in arms as they'd have explained it better.

But it's all good, inoffensive opinion - pointless, of course, but fun nonetheless.

I really didn't like it at first, hate the colour. It is, however, starting to grow on me. It seems a lot bigger than the last one. Although the console I still don't like, it seems too full of human things for a Time Lord who travels to so many planets.

Agreed. The controls would surely be more obscure, touch-sensitive; even telepathic. Not bath taps and typewriter. I really detest the designers for being so bloody stupid!

Which would not be anywhere near as interesting, visually.

To be honest I loved the last TARDIS, but this new one is incredible. There's such a lot of detail and whatnot going off. It's the first time I've seen the interior since being a kid that's made me think "actually, I'd really love to have a root about in there"!

As the Tardis is the last in existence, and Gallifrey is gone, it would make sense that when the Tardis needs to self-repair or regenerate itself it would make use of anything collected by the Doctor that would work for certain functions where the original mechanism was unusable (much like the situation in 'Girl in the Fireplace').
And because you are most familiar with human artifacts you would logically notice these more - they would stand out more - than anything that was not of that source. If you really study the new console, there is more on there that is not an Earth antique/artifact than otherwise, but your eye is drawn to the most familiar items.
Also, the Doctors attraction to Earth and its history would probably, after God knows how long travelling, lead to his having collected far more Earth artifacts than alien (much like his 'collection' of companions, most of whom have been human)

Like your explanation but still not sure about the new consul, but then I wasn't that keen on the last one either

Well there would be a lot of shots of the Doctor standing quite still, thinking hard, and occassionally creasing his brow (and he has quite a brow).

Edge of the seat stuff
