i am sure there will be some mums who disagree with this
article, but it is interesting why more girls than boys are going to see her.

Interesting article.
well i am a mum of a teenage daughter and i dont think she is such a bad role model....yes she has done things that as a mum i wouldnt want my daughter doing but generally she has succeeded and done well for herself. It isn't her fault that she has had people backstab her and abuse her with untrue stories about her. Yes it has raised her profile to where she is now but some of the untruths written about her have gone too far.
There are a lot of worse role models i can think of that i certainly wouldnt want my daughter to like.....
what has Jordan really done so bad? In my opinion nothing.
We all want the best for our kids and I just hope that my daughter doesnt end up in any relationships like the ones Katie has been in, which are so destructive.

Gosh dw I hope you're setting your sights far too low here for your daughter.

Hopefully she won't confuse notoriety and lust with love.
Hopefully she won't confuse money with happiness.
Hopefully she will have successful relationships.
Hopefully she will manage her own birth control effectively, and then maintain a clean-living lifestyle while pregnant so she has healthy children.

I can't understand why anyone would want to be Jordan - she's as miserable as Posh Spice, and has to practically prostitute herself to achieve her only aim in life - money. No surprises that she has few friends - she's too selfish to know the meaning of the word. Well both these ladies are living proof that money don't make you happy!

I think that's far too harsh actually. Particularly the suggestion that her lifestyle had something to do with having a disabled child.

Why would anyone want to be Jordan?

- She has a loving and supportive family
- A child she clearly adores
- A lover who has the nicest nature short of sainthood and is also
handsome and talented
- A job she loves and is brilliantly good at
- Loads of money, property, and the prospect of earning loads
more
- She's beautiful.

I think I can understand it.

Oh yes, and she seems to have lots of friends too. But they're mainly friends from her childhood rather than celebrity friends. Perhaps you think they don't count.

Totally agree with you 'darling'

Pushka: tell me who hasnt confused lust with love? If she (my daughter) does that i wont have a problem, its all part of the learning process
I am sure that one day my daughter will have a successful relationship but i am sure that like most of us she wont meet mr right with the first one
If she has an unplanned child - so what... as long as it is loved and she is in a position to look after and care for it it doesnt matter

You need to check out some facts aswell - Harvey's problems are not due to anything his mother did while pregnant, that is just as likely as the father passing it on to him through faulty sperm...it is one of those things.
Millions of babies are sadly born with some sort of medical problem every year but do you blame their mothers? You are being too harsh and too judgemental and i hope for your sake that nothing bad happens to you in your life and you have to live with people judging you for it.

I totally, and completely agree with you darling and dw23, she is a fantastic role model, I definately look up to her, I mean what is there not to look up to. As far as I'm concerned she is happy, loved and looks fantastic, maybe if I had a body like hers then I would have topless pictures taken,(but I don't....oh well....) I still think she is fantastic and the papers are just liars. For instance the whole thing about it being Katie's fault Harvey is blind, that is BULLSHIT!!!! She did nothing wrong. And the papers say her boobs are a 32GG, or 32FF she said on Radio 1 she is a 32DD they just look bigger because she has a small frame which hat is understandable, DD's on a size 6 of course they look bigger. I noticed their is an article in The Sun today with a pic of Pete, Katie and Harvey shopping in Brighton, why do the press take pics everyday. At the moment they are the most photographed couple in Britain, Katie is the most photographed woman in Britain, and they don't want this publicity, they should be left alone to build a relationship! Pushka u are too harsh, and I seem to remember you writing hate mail about Katie before; why don't u just shut up and stop reading about her if u hate her so much!

Oh, excuse me, I mistook DS for a forum where adults exchanged opinions and presented evidence for their arguments, not a you're-not-one-of-our-gang playground!.

I don't wish this person any harm, but I do wish young women would aspire to greater things in life than big breasts, fame and money. I'm surprised you think she is happy - I hope she is too, but my impression is that her smiles are all for the cameras.

dw - of course we all make mistakes from time to time, as you say it's part of growing up - but why would you hold someone who has not learned from those mistakes up as a role model? Mysterious to me! And don't worry about me, it's unlikely that I will have to live with the world judging me, because most of the world have no idea who I am - and I like it that way!

People are different.

I wouldn't be interested in the fame either honestly, but I'd quite like the mega-bucks, and I'd probably be willing to trade some of the former for some of the latter if I had the chance.

Katie Price is extrovert so she probably does quite like the fame too, but I thoroughly disagree with you about her state of mind. She seems to me to be ecstatically happy, particularly in her new relationship. She's also achieved much more than you suggest, IMO. I see no reason to think that she doesn't learn from her mistakes. I'm sure she learns as much as the rest of us - few of us are paragons. She doesn't seem particularly judgemental of others, which I think a nice quality.

As for role models, she's as good as many I can think of and a hell of a lot more interesting and original than most. Its not a bad thing for girls to aspire to.
