I always plait my hair because its medium-long, wavy and thick, and it makes me hot when I have my hair out, so I always tell my mum to just do one ordinary plait.

I am so ashamed of myself because im 20yrs old and kids can even do it! I can't even do a plait on my own hair! and I have tried so many times, I just can't. How am I suppose to get my hands right at the back of my head and do it neatly? how do others do it?

Buy straighteners.

My hair is long, wavy and thick, but since I discovered GHDs a few years ago, my hair has been fantastic and bloomin' gorgeous rather than an unmanageable frizzy mop!

Seconded I don't know what I would do without my GHDs now!

Ah, don't worry Moila. I can't plait my own hair. Well, I can do two plaits, cos it's easier, but for me reaching round the back of my head to do a single plait is like trying to lick my elbow - impossible!

So I tend not to plait my hair too often...

Blimey!
You'd think it was rocket science. I have thick long black hair, and could do a plait when I was a kid. It's easy, three sections, just mentally picture how you would do it on someone else, and go for it, after the first few attempts it's easy, but bring your hair round to the side once you've started and finish it off.

And if you can't, don't stress about it Moila, it's only a plait.

When I want mine done I ask my mam as I'm not able to do it myself.

What an awful thing to say.

Anyway, if you really can't do it Moila then I would suggest either getting it cut as others have recommended or just a loose ponytail, or even better, a bun.

Just tie it back, you're hair will go grey if you worryabut such menial things.

I was about to offer sensible advice (I'm great at plaits - French braids, reverse braids, twisted plaits, that sort of thing) and it really wasn't hard to learn) but then I realised it was Moila.

I would do my hair in a pony tail if it was easy to manage, every time I wash/Shampoo my hair it goes fluffy, wavy and thick like a lions mane!. And it uncomfortable in hot weather so I put some gel on my hair. I don't want to have short hair, I like the length, what cream can I put to make it soft/silky and tidy?

I wish I had silky straight hair like Japanese girls, they have hair that won't go in knots, each strand single from the other.

Surely if it's tied in a pony tail at the back of your neck it is managed?? I have thick horrible uncontrolable hair too, and the easiest thing in the world is to tie it at the back of my neck where it no longer bothers me... And every other day, the GHDs are my saving grace...
