I was annoyed she stayed in last week but not annoyed at her, at the voters, who can't, please tell me they can't have thought she was very good but were voting out of sympathy or to annoy the judges.
She wasn't my wildcard choice, and I think she was the weakest every week - but she looked her most human when she oopsed at her own last note.

To laugh at someone, who was trying their best but their best wasn't good, is sub-human.

Anyone else think that, with her hair like that and in semi-profile, Emilie looked like the lady at the beginning of Gainsborough films? Or is no-one else as old as me?

I chuckled but then felt awful - she'd done so well up until then but she took it really well and seemed to have a good attitude about it. Emilie was the weakest one there but she does have something. I hope she makes it some day.

I can't say I've properly followed this show but the family do so I have seen the odd one or two, tonight's included.

I felt for the poor girl. Okay so she wasn't the strongest and I think some of the other contestants had a nicer tone of voice but to take constant criticism (she must have known she was going as soon as she ended in the bottom two), lose and then have to stay composed enough to perform can't be easy.

What happened with that last note was unfortunate and I did cringe for her but I fail to see how anyone would find it funny.

I think actually Emilie wasn't cocky - she was assured. big difference - maybe the assurance was somewhat misplaced but lets be fair she can probably perform to a higher standard than most of us on here!!

I think Emilie was a bit silly. But I agree with you I don't think she's cocky. She was just trying to believe in herself, come off as likeable as possible. I know it might seem like she was bigging herself up a bit.

She was unhappy that the panel weren't fond of her. I think she needs to gow up a bit. But she will get a possition somewhere.. I don't like her voice personally, but then I could say that about a lot of famous singers. She might have what it takes.

I actually warmed to Emilie, she could sing but she was by far the weakest contestent. i was surprised when John commended her on her dancing as I found her awkward.

At the end of the day compared to the other girls she wasn't Dorothy. she struggled and the more she tried to take on the feedback from the judges, the further away from herself she got.

Tonights show made me smile for the wrong reasons but it made me smile.

1) jessica's near bite moment in the last song
2) the note at the end, mainly because Emilie made me smile with the way she handled it AND she did pull it back. Before that I finally did see what Charlotte meant her her Judy Garland tone. It was weak but there.

Whilst I am sooo glad Emillie went tonight, I actually found her OTR the best so far (excluding last note, obviously)

Those that have left so far have belted it out ( can't blame them for that - their chance to shine), but Emillie gave it real light & shade. It was an OK vocal, but it was the only one I felt had some acting behind it.

The last note was kind of funny, I didn't quite laugh, but the way she reacted to it made me feel warmer towards her than any other time. (actually I've not warmed to her at any other time, but I liked her final performance)

No, it wasn't brilliant or funny and, yes, you do sound evil

She wasn't as good as the others who are left, I agree but it would have been nicer for her to have had a note perfect send off and its a shame she didn't manage it

You know what, I really didn't like Emilie, I just didn't warm to her one bit from before she was picked as the wild card.

But her performance of the last song was the best she's performed until that last note, everything up until tonight has been awful imo and it was the cockiness that made people dislike her all the more. She basically said the judges didn't know what they were talking about. How could she say something so arrogant and then not deliver the following week.

I actually found the last few seconds of Emilie's departure rather endearing and I also thought she handled herself really well. She is a very pretty girl and I am positive that Andrew genuinely likes her and will keep his eye open for something for her in the future!

I don't know why some people on here have been so cruel towards Emilie, especially about the gap in her teeth, which I'm sure she feels a little self-conscious about, especially having been on TV for several weeks.

I never saw the Emilie performance, I switched over when they said who was going home but having watched it back, its nowhere near as bad as this thread makes out. I was expecting something dreadful.

She fully deserved to go but I felt so bad for her when she messed up that note. The poor girl.

What did you expect most people on here to say? No matter what she does, she is always thrown to the lions on this forum

I'm not even that much of a fan of Emilie myself but I can see if someone did well in a sing-off or if they acted out something well,etc. and no, she isn't the strongest singer, and I thought she was the weakest one left, but she surely isn't bottom of the barrel type stuff.

From now on they should make a new rule on any leaving Dorothys,who sang rubbish notes at the end.Leave them hanging on the moon,and never get them down.

Aoife Mulholland cracked on one of the last notes of Never Walk Alone and she has proved how talented she is. Sometimes it just happens.

Oh please, people saying "but she was upset, i think she did very well considering blah blah blah" hang on a minute! All the other girls were gutted too, including Dani, a 16 year old, but none of them messed up on OTR. She wasn't bad apart from that last note but I really think its silly making excuses like that for her when its clear that all the others have never messed it up.

Some good posts about Emilie's last performance.Unfortunately some can't seem to grasp the human quality of graciousness in defeat.I am glad to say Emilie did.
Its been clear to me that Emilie does have particular qualities.Contrary to some posts she can Dance very well and her sing off showed she could act a song.It would be extremely banal of me to point out that she might have been better than Sophie and that ALW maybe should have kept her in for one last chance.But I think he was right to save Sophie.I never saw any apparent problems in terms of movement and interaction in the group numbers.She does have stage presence and it's easy to empathise with her.
On reflection her OTM was actually very good (leaving aside the end note,which she handled very well in the end).Rather than belt it out,she gave it a little more dimension.
Of course,it was her unsteady vocals that ultimately let her down.There was never really time to correct any ingrained faults.I'm sure that will be one of her main priorities.
And I did'nt buy into any of this VT nonsense either.I think she was just trying to bolster her own self confidence.Nothing wrong in that.

What amazed me that there wasn't a tear in sight from Emelie, she who kept crying on other programmes, so that Sheila said she had to learn to take criticism without getting upset and ALW said if she got upset perhaps show business wasn't for her. Do you think the crying was put on as she thought it would win her votes and all that happened was the great British public got fed up with it and didn't vote for her.

Hate is a very strong word to use. Do you know her personally? If not it is inappropriate. You may have disliked her performance, but to use such a phrase about her personally is rather nasty.

I was no fan of Emilie at all. I thought she was the weakest of all the Dorothy's left by a long way. But at least she went out with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. Yes, she fluffed the last note, but she recovered well from it and grinned. I admire her for that, even though (for the sake of other more talented contestants) I am glad she was voted off.

Emilie was lovely. She knew she wasn't the best and had a sense of fun. I loved that she always had such a cheery face and that she ended on a squiffy note and knew it but still smiled. I am sure Emilie will just get better and better and succeed in getting a leading part one day. At least she has a beautiful voice to start with. Hopefully with some more voice control training she will do very well in the future.
