Saw them once in 2000, I think, at the Liverpool Royal Court. They were brilliant - so much energy.
I'm going to look at the tour dates now.

They're a brilliant band, but you're casting pearls amongst swine posting about them in this forum.

I saw them at the Bristol Rainbow Rooms in 1992 supporting Sonic Youth (with riot grrl band Huggy Bear third on the bill), and they were pretty tight, playing most of Slanted and Enchanted and Perfect Sound Forever.

They still had oddball/wildman drummer Gary Young with them at that point, and at the end of the set he came out by himself with a huge pan of spaghetti and flung ladle-fulls of it into the audience (I caught some).

Yeah, practically every other thread is about an X Factor contestant or Lady Gaga on here.

A lot of people these days don't seem to be willing to go out and find music to listen to, they are happy with whatever the music channels are willing to feed them,

If 1 person opened the thread thinking "Who are they?" and then clicked on one of the youtube links and thought Pavement were a quality band and they'd go and listen to them it'll have been worthwhile.

Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is a great album. I'm not so familiar with the rest of their stuff.

Range Life is my favourite track from that album..I love the Smashing Pumpkins/Stone Temple Pilots reference for some reason . It just makes me smile.

The slightly silly, mocking way Steve Malkmus pronounces the band names is very funny. It's a brilliant song. Cut Your Hair and Heaven Is A Truck are my other favourites off that album.

His delivery was one of the things that got me hooked on them.

Until then all the music I'd heard had singers trying to see as well as they possibly could. Malkmus didn't seen to care and I thought that was cool.

That's because it was cool!
He can't dance very well either, but still does it anyway on stage. It's impossible to watch Steve Malkmus perform without feeling happy.
