Danielle Is Very Self-Contained

Of all the girls, Danielle appears to be the most composed and cries less than the others (on stage, anyway). I wonder if this is one or the reasons ALW favours her? Perhaps he thinks she has a more professional approach and she's less likely to crack under the strain of eight shows per week. An emotional girl who cries at the drop of a hat would become very wearing after a while.

I'd say the same for Lauren, but then she gets accused of being cold.

But the way Danielle holds herself is hugely impressive; she's got all the makings of a great professional. I like her understated way of behaving. She is a 'drop of water in a weed-choked well'.

I think Danielle is a brilliant singer but to me she doesn't show any emotion when singing ,she needs to let herself go more and not appear so stiff and aloof.

You're not the only one who has noticed. Her Maybe This Time was passionless last week. As some smart person on this board said, she sang it like a choir girl. If there's one song you need to grab by the balls and make come alive, it's that one! It could've been a moment for her.

This is definitely one of the reasons she's the best choice for the role. She's already so professional and you can tell she could handle the 8 shows a week no problem. She's such a great performer, every moment she's on that stage.

She is composed and professional and I can understand the reasons why a producer might love that about a performer but from a TV audience point of view I'm not sure it works on this type of show ... these shows thrive on OTT contestents and I think Danielle's composure is just offputting to the public.

I admire Danielles composure during performances but there's also a time to really show emotion and let yourself go. During Emilies goodbye song tonight she was the only one not showing any emotion and so came across as cold and aloof ... I'd quite like to see Danielle being human ... it might make her more endearing to the voter ...

Thought she was really 'human' in her VT, and also the one about who you think the public like the best, she seemed really sweet. The composure thing on stage is admirable, but I can see how it might be misinterpreted.

I'm wondering she is just a bit too composed. If we can't see emotion in her performance through a TV camera, how will the paying customer in row ZZ of the Stalls see it? If anything, performances need to be 'bigger' for the stage.

I suspect that she isn't especially liked by the other girls.

Yes, I got that impression tonight, especially in Emilie's farewell song. Most of the girls seemed quite close and Danielle was just standing on the end seeming quite distant from the others.

Danielle is my favourite and I admire her ability to stay so composed, but I understand that to others it can make her seem cold and emotionless. Though, I think this is more down to the songs she's had than anything else.

the truth is we don't know, we are inferring from snippets/moments, all these meanings about her popularity her personality etc.. this is for all the girls - like did you see that face jessica pulled at Emilie?! It looked like pure hatred, but maybe it was some other emotion or nothing to do with Emilie. We need that body language psychologist they have on big brother.

Personally I think she shows loads of emotion/passion in her performances, espcially because she acts the song. Like in cry me a river I really felt the anger.

It's interesting that there are such polarised views about Danielle.

Interestingly Sheila said she thought only three of the girls could handle performing 8 times a week right now, I reckon she meant Danielle, Steph and Lauren. Steph and Lauren are older and with more experience so that would make sense. Usually I tend to support the more experienced contestants (Abi. Aoife, Daniel, Lee, Sarah, Rachel) over the young talent (i.e Siobhan, Keith, Jessie, Sam. Niamh) just because I'm never convinced that the inexerpienced contestants could handle carrying a show 8 times a week. But Danielle in spite of her age seems mature enough to handle it.

Iam surprised they are going for 8 shows a week with these girls as they are so young. With Jodie they cut it to six even with her not having the main role.

Dorothy is like Maria and the main role, so after the problems with connie's voice, I am surprised we are not seeing another six.

With Lee it was different as I actually see the narrator as the biggest role in Jospeh (yes, despite the show being called Joseph!)

I'm not so sure, from all the people who've been to the shows and the little backstage clips she seems as included as any of them. Jessica did say something to her as she'd been put through, then again it could have been screw you b!tch

She does need to relax a little, she clearly likes to hold things together - I think tonight was the first time she showed her feelings and it was good to see.

I think (really hope) she might be a grower. someone who was seen as more in the background but then starting to get noticed more and more - I think this week might be a breakthrough for her - although it was a sad song, it was passionate and diva like.

She needs a happier one now to bring out that side more, and to be even more bolder and emotional. ( and not frown! no more moody songs pllleeeaze)

I think in Big Brother it has often been the case that quieter/less OTT narcissitic people do better or win, but they are less noticed in the beginning. I dunno.

I think she has this girl next door/vulnerable/innocent/sweet thing which is coming across more in the VTs now. That is one thing I like about her.

Stephanie, Lauren, and Steph are in my top four with Danielle. Like Sophie but her nerves are beating her. Like Jessica personality but worst vocalist in the group now. Jenny indiffent - but she has had shit songs for 2 weeks so she could have a comeback.

Perhaps she dosent like the remaining girls much. She dosent have to and I wouldn't blame her, living with a house of drama queen types would do my head in.

It could also be she's separating herself so as to not get upset when someone leaves each week.

Maybe she's just got a sense of proportion it's not like they're dying on that Moon, never to be seen again, or something.

I'm glad my two favourites Danielle and Lauren are both similar in this aspect. Stephanie weeping buckets every week really gets on my nerves.

She is very composed and mature for her age which will hopefully go in her favour!!

They might not do 8 shows a week. They don't seem to have banged on about that too much this time.

I love how mature and composed she is. She comes across as quite quiet in the VTs but very, very genuine. And in the group performances, I think she's outstanding. She definitely holds her own, without going overboard.

I agree with Sheila that she's a great actress. I didn't really get it until last week, but even though Could It Be Magic wasn't great vocally, I thought she acted it so well. And her interpretation of Cry Me a River this week was wonderful.

I also love that she is so mature and composed, but I think what others perceive as coldness is anything but. I just watched the results section, and to me it was obvious she was upset. At the farewell, her eyes looked full and she was taking deep breaths, like trying to hold in tears, and when Sophie took the shoes over, she raises her hand to her eye like she's brushing back a tear. She is just as upset at the others--she just holds herself together better and doesn't want to be obvious about it. That is very mature for someone her age.

I'd like to see her given a real Fun song next week- we haven't really seen that side of her yet as a solo (and I can't keep up during the group numbers)

I think Danielle could handle 8 shows a week but I'm not sure she could handle winning this competition. There is immense pressure on the winners of these shows, every little thing gets blown out of proportion. On top of that you have the tabloid press that will go through her life with a fine toothcomb. Danielle is the one left who would worry me in that position.
