Which Recorder?
Hi guys, we have recently bought the Panasonic G20 42" and am starting to conclude that the Freesat is more than enough channel wise to ditch Sky+. However we would need some kind of Recorder, originally looked at the Humax, but would love to link up another Panasonic product with the Viera link. My needs are I simply want to watch and record Freesat, with no bigger than 320 Gb needed. If the price was right I would also be interested in a Blu Ray feature as I currently have no Blu Ray player. Another question would be does the Recorder I choose need to include the Freesat feature or does the TV actually do that for me? Any advice is appreciated, thanks

![]() The TV itself, doesn't output a signal, so you can't record from it. As for Panasonic, Blu Ray ... Would be nice, but, if money is no object, stick with Sky HD+++ |

For what you want, I think the Humax is the best out there.

Panasonic do make a Freesat HD PVR with built in Blu Ray Recorder (or dvd recorder) depending on the model.
However, whether they support Viera Link, I don't know. They are also considerably more expensive that the Humax - I think from memory the DVD version is around £600 and the Blu Ray version around £900. Thats quite a lot to pay for Viera link if they do support it. By contrast you could get the Humax and a Blu Ray player for less than the Panasonic DVD version. |
