I like it if they're tackling the crack issue now, instead of leaving it unanswered through the rest of the series - that'll confuse a lot of speculators!

Almost certainly. There's a clip in the Season 5 trailer of Amy kissing the Doctor, so I think that's whats gonna prompt him to pick up Rory.
As for the Forest? hmm.. no ideas as of yet.

Well, you can 'not close your eyes' and 'not blink', but you can't 'not open your eyes' and 'blink'.
