Aww I love Alesha

I saw something about this in today's Mirror and I hope Alesha starts her 'toughening up' by telling whoever thinks the panel needs even more noise and more bile to take a long walk along a short pier

I'd prefer her to demonstrate that at least one of the panel isn't going through some sort of second childhood myself...

I thought her brief was to show empathy as a previous contestant herself, and to encourage the celebs. She couldn't get that right.

When she tried to be "tough" she just came across as thoroughly bitchy, e.g. in her comments to Craig Kelly.

Totally agree.

Alesha is hardly the most articulate and trying to b e tougher may make her even more bitchy.

Like Red, I also thought her job was to be empathetic toward the contestants. Surely the one thing Strictly doesnt need is more bitchyness from the judges!!!!

"Alesha, 31, was slated by viewers for being too nice and failing to criticise any of the acts."

Where do they get such rubbish. She was slated because she is no way qualifed to be a judge but I don't remember anyone saying she was 'too nice' . The reason she can't do an in depth critique like the other 3 is because she can't. Len, Bruno and Craig have spent a lifetime in the dance world and are used to spotting any mistakes. It takes lots of experience to be able to spot every little mistake. Alesha's world is singing.

Where do the BBC get this mantra that the public only want nastiness from the judges. All the public want is fair, knowlegeble critiques like those given by Karen Hardy.

If true it all proves that the powers that be haven't got a clue doesn't it? I think again the beeb think the X-factor is a success because of Cowell's bitching whilst SCD doesn't need another harsh judge because it already has Craig who is a lot more knowledgeable than Alesha. I think you've hit the nail on the head and the beeb obviously missed all the furore over her far too personal comments to Criag Kelly and Laila Rouss - it's not because she's a nasty person but because she doesn't have the experience or expertise in this area to be critical without being personal - it's partly the knowledge isn't there and partly you have to have experience enough to know how to be detatched. Her brief was always emphathy for the contestants or stated to be - encouraging her to be tougher violates the point of that - they've got Craig there to be tough.

These quotes have hardly come from reputable sources, so I don't know why people are buying into the crap they're printing.

A quote from Alesha's manager on the article:

Quote:
“Again an absolute lie, neither I nor Alesha have had any discussions whatsoever with the BBC since the last series other than the BBC asking her to be on the next series. Some journalist has completely made up the story.”

Unfortunately binning her after only one series would mean the BBC would be actually admitting they were wwww wwwww wwwww that word that means they were no right.
