Starting to get a little confused now with VOTD (Voyage Of The Damned) and VOTD (Victory Of The Daleks) Help!! Also just a thought wouldnt it be amazing if 2 different Doctors turned up in 2 different Tardis's at a fixed point in time in a timey wimey two way biometacrisis type thingy??!! That would be awesome!!!

Sounds a bit too similar to Time Crash I think. Then again, I'm all for more multi Doctor stories, so if they could work it into something a bit more original I'd be all for it!

I don't understand why people seem to think VOTD is the first time we have had the same initals for an episode. We already had TDD (series 1) and TDD (series 4)!

It was the Children in Need mini episode in which the tenth and fifth Doctors met.

Simple solution: but the series number before of after it

3VotD / VotD3
5VotD / VotD5

VotD-S3, VotD(3), VotD(S3), ...

I think the only problem is that if two Doctors turn up at a fixed point then surely they can't do anything to change the situation around them?

I'm all in favour of multi-Doctor stories as a bit of a celebration, but they do tend to lack something in the narrative sense. I guess it's the difficulty of having multiple lead characters, all with essentially the same personality characteristics. The one they briefly mounted in 1992 sounds like a good idea (benevolent monster changes history to keep the Fourth Doctor alive when he should have regenerated, the knock on effect adjusts the paths of all future Doctors) except that it reduced all but Tom Baker to cameo appearances.

It'd make it a hell of a lot easier if people could be arsed to type out the full episode title, mind you. I had to think what on earth those two TDDs stood for. I got The Doctor Dances after running through the series one episodes in my head but I couldn't for the life of me remember The Doctor's Daughter until Stevief86 pointed out what it stood for (maybe I've just suppressed the awful memory there )

Oh please can people use words rather than initials! Not everyone has instant recall of every episode title and can put it into context. By the time I've worked it out I've usually lost interest in the discussion anyway

I always assumed that one of the reason the Time Lords went for Regeneration over "just-living-longer" was to help minimise the problems that occur when you bump into yourself while Time Travelling.

Meeting yourself while time travelling is an inevitable danger.

It's interesting that of S5 so far, the Eleventh Doctor has already come close to crossing paths with himself from Nu Who alone. VotD (S5) is set during the same timeframe as TEC/TDD whilst his debut TEH being set in 2008 means that he must have came close to having the Tenth Doctor turn up to save the world as he was rather fond of helping out the people of that era!
