Spoiler
Dessicated corpses, terror in the canal and a visit to the sinister House of Calvierri – the Doctor takes Amy and Rory for a romantic mini-break, as the Tardis touches down once again.

But 17th-century Venice is not as it should be. The city has been sealed to protect it from the Plague, although Rosanna Calvierri may have other plans...

The Doctor is played by Matt Smith, Amy by Karen Gillan, Rory by Arthur Darvill and Rosanna Calvierri by Helen McCrory.

Looks like it could be a good episode. It will truly put Moffat under many watchful eyes. After the response to Victory of the Daleks, many will be looking to see if he is at all capable of leading a team of writers, or whether it is only his own scripts he can manage. Time will tell. (By the way, I personally did like ViotD so I feel he is quite capable so far)

That's correct. Although being Doctor Who I assume the vampires will turn out to be an alien race with no supernatural or religious connotations.

And none will be as hot as Mitchell because that's just not possible.

I have to admit to being disappointed with the scripts so far - I'm hoping that they grow in strength as the series progresses.

Yes, it does sound good. Must admit it seems like it is going to a bit darker in tone than I thought, I initially had it pegged as a bit of an action/adventure romp vampire lite kind of deal.

I think the scripts have been of a very good standard overall: the only issue I've had was the fairly weakly written resolutions to episodes 2 and 3. Other than that they have been very solid worst, excellent at the best.

Hmm, time will tell. I don't think any episode has been so widely expected to be complete pants though (not that I remember anyway). Not sure why.

Interesting that the BBC website includes a clip from State of Decay. A clue or a red herring I wonder?
