H&A - the bitch is back
I can't find a thread for this but it's the best news I've heard in ages.
SPOILER The actress who played sexy uber-bitch Angie Russell is returning to H&A to play her identical cousin Josie. Yes! Happy days are here again. Well they're a good few months away for UK viewers actually... but I'll be counting the days.

And yeah, I'm sorry, I'm trying to care whether the storyline is completely ridiculous / inane / pointless, but the point is the woman is the fittest thing I've ever seen on TV. I'd watch reruns of Ch5's 'Night Fever' if she was on 'em. |

An identical cousin? How does that even work? I think Home and Away are really stretching past the reality boundary with this one, you can't have an identical cousin.

I'm not sure if she is going to be such a bitch as Angie was.
Even if she is, there's going to be more guest appearances made by Morag, so there will be a battle there. |

I think it's time for Five to show H&A 7 days a week so we can catch up with Oz. |

we are catching up with Oz anyway. When the show fist came back to five 3 years ago, we were just over a year behind oz. Now we are only 32 weeks behind.

I know !!! Ditch Family Affairs and show a double bill of H&A instead. I'm sending Five an email right now

Five aren't the first to do this 'identical cousin' storyline. Twin Peaks used Sheryl Lee to play Laura Palmer but she also appeared as Laura's cousin, Maddy (although she wore a black wig in the latter role). Still, Twin Peaks was off the wall so you could accept that......

Home and Away is shown five days a week in Ireland but I think it would really benefit from an omnibus edition on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. I'm interested to see the Kirsty twin storyline come up, Shelley comes back for that one aswell. She's already on our screens over here for Dani's trial.

H&A seems to be aiming to be as 'off the wall' as possible recently anyway. There was Sophie getting pregnant with 'twins' - one Sally and Flynn's, one hers and Blake's. Then all this Jane Doe business which my Aussie buddies tell me is lifted straight out of Days of Our Lives, Alf's near death experience, Floss's spooky predictions, the Jade and Kirsty business mentioned above... I could go on. I think it's because the US soaps are so popular in Australia - things like 'Passions' which sounds awful and 'Days' which is awful. But does it matter? I'm not watching it for gritty realism. |

US soaps are so popular in Oz that they show them in the middle of the day.

Isn't Tasha/Jane Doe Angie's daughter though?
I stopped watching H&A at Christmas as I found it was getting stupid On Friday 28th November 2003, the last episode of the series was shown in Australia. As far as I can remember: Rhys, Kirsty, Jade and Max got trapped in a landslide or something Tasha's real mother was revealed to be Angie Eloise died Irene had a heart attack Jesse and Leah were in a car crash What's happened since then? |

All of this has yet to be seen here. We are still watching the episodes shown in the last week of August 2003 in Australia. If you want to know more up to date storyllines you can read Sallys Diaries on the Home and Away website. |
