In the local paper it states the actual dog that killed the Yorkshire terrier was on a lead when it attacked it.

Would you have got the dog of the owner, some how?

What measures would you have taken in the heat of the moment .

Even more interesting What mesures are the genral public aloud to take in situations like this.

Bloody great big pole comes to mind ....

I've only skim read the story but I think I would be keen to make sure all young children were kept back but I doubt I would have throw myself into trying to break it up, if the dog was attacking a human I would have got involved or my pet

A Mastiff can weight well over 10 stones, so to try and stop it or get it from its owners is not going to be easy.

Frankly I dont think people should own such dogs unless they can physically control them. I have a mastiff and we had her taken to training classes to ensure that I have full control of her at all times, we also have a special harness that stops her from being able to pull so hopefully I would be able to rein her in if I need to.
However luckily for us she is the biggest softie in the world and she's never been aggressive towards anyone or any other dog.

I use a stick or crutches depending how well my legs are sadly they have come in handy on occasion over the years. Managed to save our late Chi from two greyhounds a few years ago, it is terrifying when it happens.
