mr muggles

Im getting unwanted cats in my flat thru the cat flap and either my cats are anxious and scenting or I've got the 'outsiders' making themselves known! Whats the best way to get rid of the odour?!

That happened to me last week. I sprayed detol anti-bacteral spray over the cat flaps and the door, then got a cloth and wiped it off. The smell went.

Diluted biological washing detergent, plus surgical spirit, will kill the smell from the human and feline point of view (the latter is important as if they can still detect it they will over-spray).

Or you can use an odour eliminator spray from the vet, but if you have bio detergent no point in buying an extra product.

If the other cats continue to intrude you might want to think about a catflap which stops feline intruders - either magnetic (cheaper) or one which recognises your cat's microchip. Otherwise the urine spraying will continue forever.

I've been having the same problem, I don't have a cat flap, instead I leave a small window open. Went downstairs this morning to find a neighbours cat struggling to get back out again.

The smell seems to come from outside tho'. Under the window there's a small flower bed, maybe this is being used as the local cat toilet?

It's never happened before, only since this other cat has been hanging around, he's a huuge cat too, I know the owner, she'll be mortified if I tell her, lol.
